IEH Laboratories, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a Part-Time Laboratory Courier position at its facility in Carol Stream, IL. Ideal candidates will possess the following: • A high school diploma or GED (required); an associate degree in Biology or related field (preferred) • Proficiency with data entry and computer applications • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment • Strong attention to detail • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory • Ability to regularly lift up to 30lbs above waist level • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs above waist level • A valid US driver's license and clean driving record (including, at minimum, no accidents in the last 5 years) that meets/continues to meet motor vehicle risk standards, as verified through ongoing MVR monitoring Laboratory Courier duties include: safely transporting samples from customers to the lab on a fixed schedule, cleaning and maintaining coolers for sample transport, washing glassware, media/sample preparation, data entry, inventory control, general laboratory cleaning, and other duties as assigned. The pay range for this position is $17 – $19.00 hourly. The shift for this position is part-time (30 hours/week), with a fixed schedule (operating hours are Monday – Friday, from 1:00pm - 7:00pm). This position eligible for the following benefits: paid sick leave (1 hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours annually) and 401(k) (with up to 3% employer match after eligibility criteria are met). Part-time employees may be eligible for medical insurance after 6 months if working more than 30 hours/week on average during an initial 5-month measurement period.
