We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Linux Systems Engineer to maintain, optimize, and support our Linux-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Linux systems administration, performance tuning, automation, and troubleshooting in a large-scale, production environment. Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers, and manage server health, ensure uptime, and perform regular patching and upgrades. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance tuning across Linux servers to ensure reliability and efficiency. Strong knowledge of Linux internals and familiarity with enterprise Linux distros. Proficiency in automation tools such as Ansible. Experience writing shell scripts (Bash) or Python for task automation. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and experience with network troubleshooting. This role centers on the implementation of Juniper MX960 routers and the transition from MC-LAG to EVPN/VXLAN fabrics. This role will involve leading high-impact cutovers and migrations in a production environment, contributing to both hands-on implementation and network architecture design across a multi-overlay fabric. This is a hybrid position based out of Philadelphia, salary is in the 110-150k range. This is a 12 month contract with the possibility of extension. Responsibilities Lead the planning, prioritization, and execution of enterprise-scale Juniper router migrations (MX960 platform). Design and validate EVPN/VXLAN architectures with multiple overlays to ensure scalability, performance, and redundancy. Collaborate closely with the customer’s Network Engineering team to achieve seamless integration with minimal disruption during migrations. Configure, test, and deploy Junos OS across MX and EX platforms in production environments.
