Analyst User Access Audit & Governance Location: Forth, TX Yrs of experience: 5 Mode of Work: Hybrid Interview is onsite Locals only Description: The IT Audit Governance team is responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of American’s cybersecurity, technology, and operational controls, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This position has exposure across the company and exposes team members to a wide set of IT general security controls (i.e., access management, change management, logical security) and remediation activities including developing and coordinating meaningful process improvement strategies. What You'll Do ● Primary responsibilities include conducting regular reviews on access rights of users and working with management to design and/or revise system user roles to align with user’s roles and responsibilities. ● Facilitate user access reviews for a variety of systems including on-prem servers (Windows & Linux), databases, applications, cloud resources, etc. manually or using automated access review tools. ● Familiarity or willingness to learn IGA tools such as SailPoint IdentityNow, Sonrai Security ● Prepare and scope reviews, while meeting with stakeholders to develop an understanding of the business and technology and identifying the key risks and controls to be assessed ● Participate in meetings with process and control owners to ensure enterprise level access controls are properly created to address any access related risks identified by management. ● Facilitate and track audit remediation activities with stakeholders to completion ● Work with internal auditors and regulatory examiners to collect and prepare requested documents and consulting with stakeholders on remediation efforts. ● Perform special projects related to cybersecurity as assigned by management. ● Assess the effectiveness of controls to mitigate identified risks and offer solutions for process improvements related to audit remediation efforts ● Analyze material risks as they relate to AA’s priorities and overall strategy by monitoring internal and external factors and applying key business initiatives Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience ● Bachelor’s degree in information technology or other related field experience ● Experience in audit roles or a related control function - relevant certification or industry accreditation (e.g., CPA, CFA, CIA) encouraged ● Working knowledge of ITSM/ITAM, regulatory compliance (SOX, PCI DSS, GDPR/PII and HIPAA) and cybersecurity principles ● Strong proficiency in basic PC applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with a general understanding of simple data analysis techniques like VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables etc. ● Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn both AA and industry standards (NIST 800-171, NIST 800-871) ● Strong written and oral communication skills, PC skills, team building skills and the ability to work independently

Requirements Partner with the management team to ensure business questions are clearly defined, scoped, and actionable. Leverage domain knowledge of the cable/telecom industry to quickly understand issues and data context. Develop an analytic approach in collaboration with management to address business needs. Identify and apply key attributes and metrics relevant to reliability analysis. Extract data from warehouses using SQL and prepare analyses in Excel or other BI tools. Build tables, pivot reports, and visualizations using reporting tools. Proactively identify and flag potential data quality issues or questionable assumptions. Apply foundational statistical and analytic techniques, such as correlations, statistical checks, and exploratory visualizations. Recognize limitations of observational data and apply methods to mitigate misinterpretation (e.g., correlation vs. causation, regression to the mean, confounding, selection bias). Ensure rigor in unit measurements, derived metrics, and interpretation of results. Translate analytic findings into a clear, compelling narrative supported by charts, figures, and tables. Develop professional, polished presentations in PowerPoint, emphasizing readability and clarity. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in data analysis, with emphasis on reliability, operations, or telecom preferred. Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and BI/reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar). Strong foundation in statistics, with ability to apply appropriate analytic techniques. Excellent communication skills with proven ability to distill complex analyses into clear, actionable insights. Experience working in the cable/telecom industry is highly desirable. Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s preferred. Compensation Sand Cherry Associates based in Denver, CO is required by state law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. This is a long term consulting engagement, with an hourly range of $85-95 per hour on 1099 or adjusted commensurate salary on W2. Years of experience, level of education, geographic location, unique skills/qualifications for the specific role and potential certifications can be key factors in the final compensation for this role.
