Position Summary To direct and perform work consisting of tasks of a varied nature necessary to the operation, facilities and services of the Society. Principal Responsibilities Attend, clean, guard or patrol an assigned area or public building, property, structures and/or gates in or adjoining the zoological park to keep order and cleanliness. Assist in allocation of work assignments. May inventory, order, pick-up and allocate supplies. Protect society property by properly securing and locking various buildings, stations or gates. Perform ground maintenance work including helping with landscaping, gardening, etc. Offer aid, help and directions and information to the public. Perform custodial duties where required. Assist in the cleaning of areas other than those assigned as conditions may require. Enforce the Society's visitor rules and regulations and those of the Department of Parks of the City of New York. Perform related tasks and duties as required. Qualification Requirements Ability to represent WCS in a professional manner and to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with employees, colleagues, City and other government agencies, outside contractors, and the general public. Valid Driver’s License (preferred) High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred) Physical Requirements The position requires outdoor work in all weather conditions. Tasks require manual dexterity and ability to safely use tools (e.g. drill, wire cutters, computer keyboard) and operate equipment (e.g. vacuum cleaners, pressure washer and related custodial equipment). Some tasks require climbing, kneeling, bending, navigating uneven terrain, and moderate lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, evenings and special events as the schedule demands. Full job description Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Site Superintendent to oversee construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will ensure that all operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely while adhering to project timelines and budgets. The Site Superintendent will be responsible for managing on-site personnel, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities Communicate between the office and the field team. Supervise daily operations on the construction site to ensure project milestones are met. Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of workmanship. Conduct regular safety inspections in compliance with OSHA regulations. Manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Train and supervise site personnel, fostering a collaborative work environment. Troubleshoot issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to the workflow. Maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily logs and reports. Requirements must be fluent in Mandarin and English knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations is a plus Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings is a plus the ideal candidate will be working on the different construction job sties that are mostly in NYC.
