The Epicurean Trader, San Francisco’s premier gourmet food, wine, and spirits market and café, is seeking talented Baristas, Acai Bowl wizards and Retail Associates (with exceptional knowledge of food, cheese, or wine) to join our growing team. We are looking for self-motivated people who love to work with others and who people love interacting with. This is a service position, so candidates should be: - Eloquent and fluent in English - Strong knowledge of food, wine, and spirits - Experience in the hospitality industry (restaurant, café, wine bar, or gourmet market) - A positive, ‘can do’ attitude and a willingness to take on any tasks required to provide customers with the best service possible and present the store in the best way possible Positions are available at the following markets: The Ferry Building, Cow Hollow and Castro. WHO WE ARE: The Epicurean Trader is a specialty food, wine, and spirits store dedicated entirely to craft products: craft spirits; small production wines; farmstead cheeses and charcuterie; small batch chocolates, coffees, teas, and pantry items. REQUIREMENTS: - You are motivated, enthusiastic, outgoing, and reliable - Have at least two years experience as a barista, in hospitality, or at a gourmet market - Relevant work experience with credit references from prior employers - Available to work flexible shifts, including weekends (full-time; 40 hrs per week) - At least 21 years of age or older - Eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
