You do NOT need to be a certified teacher (although we love that!). We are working with 5 new schools in the Palmdale area! This is a SHORT-TERM CONTRACT with the potential to extend. Monday, October 6th - Friday, December 12th - Must be available to begin immediately - Must be available to come in-person to Glendale warehouse every other week for material exchanges Pay for all Areas of Business (AOB) is hourly - including set-up and clean-up time. Starting pay is $22.00-$26.00 per hour, DOE. + Mileage compensation! Responsibilities: - Facilitating in-person workshops and after-school science enrichment programs for children from preschool through elementary school - Deliver high-energy, part entertainment, part education, hands-on programming - Meet bi-monthly to exchange class materials in Los Angeles - Attend paid training sessions. - Be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. - Be on time for all scheduled activities. - Adhere to strict safety and cleanliness guidelines. Qualifications: - Must be available at least 3 consistent weekdays from 12-5pm for the duration of the session. While this is a part-time position, it is critical that you are able to commit to the length of any given program (school season, camp session, after-school program, etc.), and that you are able to give us steady weekly availability. - Must have a personal vehicle as you will be transporting equipment to conduct programs and exchange materials - Some experience teaching/ working with groups of elementary-age (4-12) children (such as an after-school teacher or camp counselor). - Minimum of 1 year of college suggested. Degrees and/or graduate degrees are a plus. - Maintain a fun, flexible, & outgoing personality! - Enjoy teaching young children the art of science!
