Class A CDL Driver or Trainee (Hood River)

We offer a full-time, year-round position with a consistent schedule, along with the opportunity to gain valuable agricultural transportation experience. About the role: As a CDL Driver, you will play a crucial role in our operations, transporting goods efficiently and safely. Outside of our busy season, your schedule will be consistent, but during the peak harvest season, a flexible schedule is required. Key responsibilities: • Operate and maintain a commercial vehicle in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner. • Transport materials and products to and from designated locations. • Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues. • Accurately maintain driver logs, mileage, and delivery documentation. • Communicate professionally with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers. • Adhere to all traffic laws, federal regulations (including Hours-of-Service), and company policies. • Work a 5-day week during the off-peak season, with the expectation of working 6 to 7 days per week during peak harvest season. Requirements: • For Experienced Drivers: A valid Class A CDL, a clean driving record, passing the pre-employment drug test, and proof of current registration with the FMCSA Clearinghouse. • For Trainees: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record. The ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen is required before training begins. • Must be at least 21 years old. • Willingness and ability to work long hours during the peak harvest season. • Strong communication and time management skills. • A professional and customer-oriented attitude. Physical Requirements: • Ability to sit for extended periods of time. • Capacity to climb into and out of the vehicle multiple times per day. • Ability to lift and move heavy objects when necessary.
