You can learn more about our company by visiting our website https://proformbuilds.com/. The Laborer / Carpenter Apprentice performs hands-on carpentry and labor work. The Laborer / Carpenter Apprentice helps with many project tasks including, but not limited to, prepping the work areas, staging supplies and tools, and assisting with framing, trimming, installing siding, windows, doors and cabinets. Cleans the work area frequently during the day and before the end of the shift. Keeps tools, supplies and equipment organized and in good repair. This position is non-exempt from overtime (paid for overtime) and reports to the Lead Carpenter and the Superintendent. RESPONSIBILITIES ● Performs general labor tasks at the build site. ● Assists carpenters with all types of carpentry work including, but not limited to, framing, trim, siding, installation of windows and doors, cabinet installation and finish work. ● Uphold Proform’s standards of excellence, professionalism and integrity. ● Cleans and organizes the work area multiple times during the shift. ● Preps tasks. ● Wears appropriate gear and personal protective equipment to work safely. ● Maintains a clean, safe and organized work environment in compliance with federal, state, local and Proform requirements. ● Communicates professionally and effectively with clients, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, employees, neighbors and Proform staff. ● Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS ● Authorized to work in the U.S. ● No construction work experience required. We are willing to train you in the carpentry trade if you have prompt attendance, a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, an interest in residential construction, and are physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. ● Professional and ethical demeanor. ● Excellent attention to detail. ● Ability to communicate in English. ● Intermediate math knowledge (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) is not required as a laborer, but is required for those wanting to train into carpenter positions in the future. ● Willingness to follow all safety rules. ● Reliable personal transportation and an acceptable driving record. ● Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds individually and heavier loads with the help of others. ● Willing and able to work at construction sites with inherent hazards such as energized tools and lines; slips, trips and falls; falling materials; elevated walking and working surfaces; materials handling; noise; inclement weather; uneven working and walking areas; pneumatic equipment; traffic; etc. ● Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
