Job Description Overview: The Local Delivery Driver is a key member of the e-commerce team. Their main responsibility is to make sure customer’s packages arrive safely, quickly, and in good condition. They do this through good time management, organizational skills, communication, and problem solving. Each shift will start at the store, logging and loading the day’s deliveries. As each delivery is made, the driver marks orders as delivered in a smartphone app. If there are any problems or questions while out on a route, the driver will either contact the store for instructions or contact the customer directly. Once deliveries are complete, the driver will return to the store and finish any remaining tasks.  Position Specific Functions: Inventory and load orders into the vehicle, using a delivery log to ensure no packages are missed. Transport orders to customer’s homes, leaving them at the door or mail dropoff area. Photographing delivery locations as necessary. Notifying Pets on Broadway and the customer of deliveries status via a smartphone app. Adhering to all laws and regulations while driving. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Qualifications: Great communication skills. Highly reliable. Excellent record of attendance/punctuality. Self-motivated, with high attention to detail, quality, and presentation. Ability to manage complex and/or difficult customer interactions.  Ability to read, understand, and follow through on verbal and written instructions.  Ability to maintain a flexible schedule in order to meet the needs of the store. Ability to reliably meet the required work schedule and adhere to the company attendance policy. Requirements Physical: Required to work for extended periods of time in direct contact with a variety of animals while potentially exposed to dust, dander, and other allergens. Frequently required to work around potentially toxic chemicals associated with certain pet care products. Consistently required to stand, reach, grasp, twist and turn, talk, listen and hear, and make repetitive motions with hands and feet.  Frequently required to walk, stoop, bend, kneel/squat, fine finger manipulation, and push/pull. As needed, the position may require sitting, crawling, driving, and climbing ladders and stairs. Frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance. Work performed requires medium physical strength. Consistently required to use near and peripheral vision, in addition to depth perception.  Vehicular: A valid driver’s license. Ability to use a smartphone app for navigation, reporting of deliveries, and calling/texting customers when necessary. Clean driving record for the last three years. No accidents, moving violations (speeding tickets), major violations such as driving crimes, or points on your license. Other Info: Shifts will be 6-10 hours in length depended on the number of deliveries for the day. Scheduled delivery days are Sunday, Wednesday & Friday.
