The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to the assembly and fabrication of products, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the production process. A production worker operates factory equipment such as press brakes and roll forming equipment, works on a production line, uses mechanical equipment to create and inspect products, and adheres to all factory safety guidelines, quality and productivity standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Production Worker: • Adheres to all safety guidelines in the production area and in handling of materials in the factory. • Starts assigned assembly and production machinery at beginning of shift. • Makes sure that workstation is clean and free of hazardous materials. • Cleans equipment. • Inspects assembled products to ensure they are up to quality standards. • Keeps production floor clean. • Reports issues or problems with production equipment to immediate supervisor. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Strong attention to detail. • Is able to identify problems or malfunctions with machinery and equipment. • Demonstrates analytical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to troubleshoot production issues. • Is familiar with all factory safety procedures and guidelines. • Works efficiently and manages time effectively. • Possesses physical strength and stamina required to stand, walk, and lift (up to and including 50 lbs.) for long periods of time. Education and Experience: • High school diploma or GED is preferred. • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or warehouse setting is recommended. Work Environment: • Standard 40-hour workweek applies. Job Summary: G+D has an outstanding opportunity for a Machine Operator in our Lamination Department at our Bolingbrook plant on 1st shift working Monday through Friday 5:30am-1:30pm with required overtime during our peak season. We are searching for a positive and experienced worker looking for a long-term position that enjoys physical work, guiding staff, and ensuring results. The successful candidate will also enjoy taking on new duties as the role progresses. Duties & Essential Job Functions: Prepare, supply, and operate the machine during the production process and monitor relevant stages to ensure that products are manufactured according to established parameters. Understand and execute the entire range of machine functions and operating sequences. Load materials onto machines in the required order and sequence. Read job specifications and previous run data (if available) to set machine parameters and material requirements. Prior to performing maintenance on the machine, ensure proper Lockout/Tag-out procedures have been followed. Meet or exceed job standards for line speeds, scrap rates, and setup times. Load and unload stock efficiently and safely. Maintain department inventory and supplies, ensuring everything is accounted for. Report any maintenance needs to the Maintenance Department promptly. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance department to ensure product specifications are met. Complete all required documentation and data entry accurately and in a timely manner. Verify material conformance to specifications. Maintain cleanliness of the work area and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized workspace. Verify that guards at pinch points and potential burn areas are present before operating the machine. Conduct thorough inspections to ensure the highest quality standards. Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies and procedures, taking immediate action to correct safety and security issues. Required Skills & Qualifications: High School diploma or GED preferred. Minimum of 6 months of experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment. Willingness to work overtime; must be willing to work 10-hour shifts and some Saturdays during our peak season. Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 and normal color perception. Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including; reading information from printed sources and computer screens. Strong verbal and written communication in English. Ability to focus and perform precision hand movements when operating machinery. Must be able to regularly lift 50 pounds and work safely around machinery. Other – Perform other duties as assigned or needed Qualifications: – bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. – 3+ years operating experience leading a fast paced, high performing fitness and/or rock climbing facility with demonstrated leadership and management experience. – Strong computer skills required with MS Office software and basic website capabilities, budgeting, forecasting, and data- driven decision making. – Certification by American Red Cross in Adult CPR and First Aid required required for hire – Must be a self-starter and demonstrate initiative when unsupervised – Strong oral and written communication skills required – Must be capable of working collegially with a diverse group of staff, members and visitors on a daily basis. – Strong Climbing Experience required. Additional Preferred Qualifications: 2 years minimum experience managing: hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and supervising staff. Salary compensation could range from $69k – $80k per year depending on experience.
