2006 Subaru Outback XT with the 5MT transmission. About 214k miles on the odometer. It started running quite rough on the drive back from the mountains. I checked the compression and cylinder 4 was reading about 10 PSI. I'm leaning towards a burnt exhaust valve on cylinder 4, although I haven't done any more diagnostic work to confirm this. This would be a good candidate for an engine rebuild/swap or a donor car to swap the manual transmission into another outback. The struts, tires and front brakes are about a year old and it has a new battery as well. I had the downpipe off a couple months ago and the turbo felt healthy with no play. Interior is in decent shape but is showing some signs of wear on the plastics. It starts and drives, you could probably nurse it home depending on how adventurous you're feeling.
