1995 Mazda Miata (Original Owner) - $6,300 (Douglaston)

address58-11 246th Crescent, Douglaston, NY 11362, USA

Description

I’m selling a very special car that has been with my family since new. My grandfather purchased this car brand new from Mazda in 1995. It’s truly only been driven to our lake house and back, and sparingly on weekends. For most of its life, it was stored in my grandfather’s apartment until recently, when it made its way to our house. The car is in 100% original condition. The paint is original and it has never been in any accidents—on or off Carfax—that would have required a respray. This car runs and drives extremely well, especially for its age. Very few signs of wear are visible for a 30-year-old vehicle. Exterior: As mentioned, the paint is in great condition. There are a few scratches on the bumper from parking in town, but nothing significant on the body. The car is relatively dry, aside from some light surface rust (you're more than welcome to inspect the underside). There is a bit of bubbling on the rear left rocker and the front right, but nothing significant that would require immediate attention. Other than that, the car is straight as an arrow. The soft top is in great shape—it was replaced, I believe, about three years ago and has rarely been opened, as the car is mostly driven with the top down. Interior: The interior is completely stock from 1995, including the original radio and floor mats. The car also includes the original tire change kit and spare. The seats are a bit dirty, and the driver’s seat is slightly worn, but all are firm and provide good support. Driving Experience: The car is extremely fun to drive! It’s light, peppy, and produces a satisfying engine sound as you shift through the gears. All five gears and reverse work great, and the clutch feels strong. There are no rattles or odd suspension/bushing noises. Maintenance: My grandfather was very particular about maintenance. Over the life of the car, he's spent around ~$29.6k in maintenace. The car received oil changes every 2–3k miles (typically on an annual basis). Some notable maintenance items include: Tune-up and oil change (2024) New ignition coil pack (2024) Timing adjusted (2024) Clutch and slave cylinder replaced (~30k miles ago) Brake pads replaced (4k miles ago) Cobalt dual exhaust installed (2022) Both window regulators serviced (2022) He kept a folder of receipts, with records dating as far back as 1999. All the maintenance items listed above are backed by receipts included in the folder. The car also includes the OEM tonneau convertible cover, original manual, and comes with two sets of keys. I'm hoping the next owner will care for this car as much as my family has over the past 30 years. Asking Price: $6,300 Please reach out to schedule a time to see the car. Thank you!
