





Job Title: Packaging/QA Specialist Reports to: Production Manager Employee Status: Part-Time *** We are seeking a highly motivated candidate ready to start immediately with our production run:*** *** Immediate Start (This Week): Wed, 11/5 - Fri, 11/7 (10:00 AM - 6:30 PM daily).*** *** Ongoing Schedule: This is an ongoing part-time role with a recurring weekly schedule, typically Wed and Th, but may include Fri as production needs dictate.*** SUMMARY The Packaging Specialist plays a vital role in final Quality Assurance (QA), ensuring product presentation and cold chain integrity are maintained from the bottling line to the reefer storage, to the cases the product is palletized in. As a growing startup, we operate with a small, tight-knit team, requiring a proactive work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, a high degree of urgency, operational excellence and a strong team-first mentality. This role handles accurate order preparation and logistics tracking which is critical for ensuring the final quality, presentation, and delivery readiness of Shakewell's whey protein smoothies. The team member works primarily in the refrigerated reefer to maintain product freshness (cold chain integrity), focusing on accurate preparation and logistics tracking, while ensuring a sanitary and organized work environment at all times. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Cold Chain Management: Ensure all bottled product is properly stores in the reefer (refrigerated storage) immediately upon receipt to maintain the required cold temperature. - Quality Assurance & Traceability: Verify every bottle's best-by date accuracy, cap security, and overall product presentation before packaging. - Final Packaging: Accurately package finished, cold bottles into cases, ensuring product integrity and proper presentation. - Order Logistics & Inventory: Precisely log case counts and securely palletize orders for shipment, preparing them for the logistics team. Maintain accurate records of all finished goods inventoried, prepared for shipping communicate with the Production Manager regarding case counts and order fulfillment status. - Sanitation & Production Support: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the packaging, palletizing and storage areas. Provide support to the production team, which included assisting in post-production cleaning duties. - Logistics Support: Occasionally assist with receiving and accurately storing incoming raw materials or packaging supplies to their designated area, requiring safe lifting and proper organization. QUALIFICATIONS - Experience: Previous experience in food production, warehouse, logistics or quality assurance environment is preferred, but not required. - Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and repeatedly lift cases/product and handle palletizing duties. Ability to work in refrigerated storage space (reefer) during most of shift while packaging product. - Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to counting, labeling, and ensuring product is stored correctly for cold chain compliance. - Proactive Work Ethic: Must demonstrate a reliable, detail-oriented approach and thrive in an environment defined by high standards for quality, urgency, and sanitation. - Basic Digital Literacy: Proficiency in basic computer functions, including data entry into digital logs or spreadsheets for case count tracking and order updates. - Reliability: Proven ability to work independently and to adhere to shift start time. - Team Player: Willingness to assist the core production team with cleaning duties when requested. - Bilingual Skills: Must be fluent in English. Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred to facilitate communication with a diverse team. DRESS CODE - Clean, comfortable clothing suitable for a food production environment. - Non-slip, closed-toe shoes are required. - Company-provided aprons and hair restraints (hat or hairnet) must be worn at all times during production.
