Responsibilities Perform welding tasks on storage tanks, including using a variety of welding techniques such as stick and flux core welding. Ensure the structural integrity and safety of storage tanks through proper welding techniques and practices. Interpret welding blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate execution of welding tasks. Inspect welding work for quality control, identifying and addressing any defects or issues. Collaborate with team members to ensure the efficient completion of welding projects within specified deadlines. Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a secure working environment. Maintain welding equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance. Requirements Minimum 1 years of experience as a welder, with specific experience in storage tank welding preferred. Certified welder with thorough knowledge of welding techniques, practices, and equipment. Proficient in reading and interpreting welding blueprints and specifications. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify welding defects or issues. Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift heavy equipment when necessary. Prioritization and time management skills to meet project deadlines. Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and support overall project objectives. Must be willing to travel. TWIC card may be required. Must be able to pass drug (urine and hair follicle) and alcohol test. Must be able to pass background check. Must be able to read and understand blueprints, technical manuals, and other engineering drawings. Tack weld clips and brackets into place prior to permanent welding. Must have a thorough knowledge of various metals characteristics and qualities including the correct welding processes required and the effects of welding on the material. Document work performed and maintain records, as required. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Inspect and test welds for quality and conformity to specifications. Requirements Job Requirements: 3+ years of 1st class aluminum MIG welding experience in the marine industry. Solid understanding of shipbuilding processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to read blueprints. Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
