To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each duty listed below, plus they must be on-time each and every day as scheduled. Other duties may be assigned as needed. IMPORTANT: Start time is typically early morning about 5/5:30am at our Port Chester, NY office. Being on-time is vital to succeeding in this role. Driving large vehicles and operating them safely and loading and unloading the truck into commercial buildings are also keys to success. CDL not required. Clean driving record is required. Pay is based on experience. This is an hourly position and yes we pay overtime, provide paid sick days, etc. PLEASE NOTE: This job requires you to drive a box truck to New York City and back every day. You must have a flexible schedule. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Deliver, load and unload job-related materials and equipment to job sites and back to shop in company provided vehicles. Vehicles include: Box Truck, For lifts, Van, Pickup trucks, etc. · Assist with the maintenance work, cleaning and repairs for company vehicles and equipment of all types to ensure all are in working order. · Inspect material upon delivery to the warehouse to identify any damage. · Record and report the material amount or count received. · Operate material handling equipment such as hand jacks, wheeled carts and forklifts safely and as needed. · Lift, carry and move material and equipment as needed. · Collect and dispose of waste and recyclables. · Maintain and ensure the warehouse is kept clean, safe, and organized. · Work effectively to meet or exceed schedule goals while maintaining high quality standards. · Maintain clean driving record and abide by all transportation laws. · Be mindful of parking work vehicles when on job site and back at shop to avoid tickets and penalties. · Must be able to handle multiple tasks and to work independently. · Must be able to work early mornings · Be able to work nights and weekends when necessary. · Keep records/logs of vehicles and equipment. · Must be a team player both in the field, in the shop and in an office environment. · Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to: excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidity. Basic Qualifications · Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a driving background check. · High school diploma or equivalency certificate. · Prior experience in the construction field a plus · Must be on-time and show up each and every day. This job starts in early mornings · Ability to interact with customers and staff in a courteous and professional manner. · Must be willing and able to work with powered lift equipment – for example forklift or scissor lifts. · Must be able to lift more than 99 pounds on some occasions, stand/walk for up to 8 hours (with breaks), and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach. · A clean and presentable appearance is mandatory Job Type: Full-time and Part-Time available Education: · High school or equivalent (Required) Experience: · Driving: 4+ years (Required) License/Certification: · Driver's License (Required) Willingness to travel: · A must as you will be on the road driving to NYC daily.
