Educational Clinician / Tutor Schedule Details: ● This position requires Monday through Friday availability. The Learning Center’s hours of operation are 8:00 AM through 5:00 PM. ● The expected schedule is subject to change based on the scheduling needs of the Learning Center. ● The hours required during the paid training are generally 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, for two weeks. Following the training, as a part-time employee, you will generally be scheduled less than 30 hours per week according to the scheduling needs of the Learning Center. Educational Clinician / Tutor Expectations: ● Have a passion for helping others reach their potential. ● Implement positive reinforcement strategies that maximize learning cheerfully and authentically. ● Possess excellent reading, spelling, and comprehension skills. ● Possess basic computer skills. ● Record notes about student performance while leading engaging sessions. ● An associate’s degree, early childhood education certificate, bachelor's degree, or active pursuit of a degree is required. Educational Clinician / Tutor Responsibilities: ● Provide one-to-one and small group instruction, in-person or online, implementing specific lesson plans under the direction of Learning Center leadership. ● Facilitate the use of the curriculum provided for Lindamood-Bell Academy students. ● Interact positively and professionally with clients and staff to provide a safe and positive learning environment. ● Manage client records, both handwritten and electronic. Educational Clinician / Tutor Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $23 per hour. Ensures that each program/class contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency. Maintains a high level of expertise in the subjects taught and stimulates enthusiasm for those subjects. Recommends textbooks and other instructional materials including classroom and laboratory equipment to Dean/Director. Make suggestions to the department Dean/Director, concerning the improvement of the curriculum in keeping with the objectives of the college. Teaches all classes according to an approved course syllabus, ensuring that assigned classes are held as scheduled. Holds the final exam at the time scheduled unless permission to deviate has been approved by the department Dean/Director. The instructor will create and organize course syllabi for all courses using the Learning Management System. Ensures courses have necessary content and teaching methods, staying updated in relevant subjects, and inspiring student interest. Evaluates student progress and suggest curriculum improvements to enhance learning outcomes. Requirements Education: Master's Degree required, in one of the following disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science, Astronomy, or Health Science (Only for Anatomy and Physiology Instructors) Additionally, a Master's Degree with 18 graduate credits in the specified discipline or instruction will meet requirement. Preferred Experience & Skills: Teaching experience desired, experience in adult education preferred. Must be available for required course assignments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - must be able to work with students, technical and administrative personnel in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Ability to use personal computer and software applications. Assist management to order activity supplies and/or order them as needed, or pick them up at outside vendors. Must be aware of monthly activity budget to ensure appropriate spending. Coordinate outside activity providers, ie musicians, volunteers. Coordinate outings, contact outing sites, family & residents to arrange visits. Coordinate activities to be done in evenings and/or weekends with caregivers & managers. Coordinate any needed food items with chefs and housekeepers. Accompany residents to outings and/or appointments May be trained to drive facility vehicles as needed. Assist with resident transfers in and out of facility vehicles. Assist residents to be appropriately attired for activities. Provides safe transfers, positioning and turning of clients using effective body mechanics. Reports any needed repairs of community-owned property to the Administrator. Participates in all scheduled team member meetings, and other community-wide Team Member meetings as requested. Supports the mental health and social service needs of residents.   Required Experience, Education, & Skills:  Experience in a residential care or assisted living setting, preferably with RCFE Activity Certification but not required. Strong understanding of federal, State, and local regulations governing residential care facilities for the elderly. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively. Compassionate, patient, and empathetic, with a commitment to providing an environment that is positive and uplifting to our residents. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Activity Connect software.
