1986 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper - $21,000

The time has come to sell Ludwig, our beloved Westfalia camper. We’ve owned this van for a dozen years, and made a ton of upgrades and improvements. Since he’s been our family camper he’s been well maintained and cared for during our ownership. Ludwig has been a southern California resident as long as my records show. He does have a lackluster bondo job on the drivers side front corner and little bit of visible rust here and there but is very presentable otherwise. Having just recently passed smog, there won’t be a need to re-test for a CA title transfer. Clean CA title in hand, of course. 266K on the odometer, but the engine was swapped out at 110K for 2.1 liter. He has the more desirable water-cooled engine. Mechanically, everything works with the exception of the fuel sender (an easy fix). He starts easily and runs well. The camp section is all working as well, with the original Dometic RM128 fridge even able to make ice on battery power, shore power, or propane. In the last couple months we’ve replaced: *Brake master cylinder (with full brake flush) *Water pump (with full coolant flush) *Starter *Pump/alternator belt *Power steering belt *Agm automotive battery *New dash pad with sound deadening material installed under dash In the last year we’ve replaced: *Camp battery - LiFePo4 50Ah *Clutch slave cylinder *On board Li-ion/lead acid dual battery charger and tender wired to shore power Besides the routine oil changes, tune ups, and pad replacements, in the last dozen years we’ve replaced or repaired more than we can remember. At a minimum we’ve fixed or added the following: *Alternator replaced with new Bosch (including the heavier gauge load wire) *Fuel lines fully replaced *New stereo *New clutch (about 5 years ago) *Fuel tank reseal and vapor control hoses replaced *New camp fresh water pump *Camp faucet replacement *Camp led panel rebuild *Added 3 point seat belts to bench seat *Fiamma crank out awning (best modification ever) *Custom Sunbrella three window tent canvas and matching custom curtains *3rd brake light kit *Led lighting throughout the interior *Fridge propane re-jet *16” wheels and tires *Lots of other GoWesty and VanCafe stuff that I’ve installed but can’t remember.
