Description

Saaf Finance is building the AI workforce for mortgage lending. Backed by leading financial firms, we’re growing fast and hiring our first Product Manager in New York. This is a rare chance to join an AI-first fintech at the ground floor. You’ll work directly with the founders to shape product strategy and translate complex, data-intensive workflows into simple, intuitive user experiences. You will be responsible for bringing the user’s voice into every decision, partnering closely with engineering and design, and ensuring that what we build is both technically sound and a delight to use.  If you’re a curious, driven product manager who thrives on moving fast, building with cutting-edge AI, and redefining one of the largest markets in financial services, this role is for you. Core Responsibilities User Research and UX Leadership Lead the full process of gathering and applying user insights to guide product design and strategy. This includes conducting interviews, surveys, and usability tests with borrowers, brokers, and loan operations staff. Translate pain points into actionable enhancements, ensuring the user experience is a key driver of our roadmap. Work closely with designers in Figma to prototype solutions, clearly separate UX and UI considerations, and refine workflows for a seamless interface. Product Strategy and Data-Driven Roadmap Own and evolve the product roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on measurable user impact and business value. In our lending platform context, this means focusing on features that improve outcomes such as increased loan throughput and reduced processing time. Define clear success metrics, such as conversion rates, loan processing time, and adoption rates, and monitor them to guide decisions. Adjust priorities as new insights emerge, keeping the roadmap aligned with company goals, including scaling our mortgage automation capabilities. Technical Specifications and Cross-Functional Collaboration Translate user needs into detailed product specifications and acceptance criteria that engineering and QA teams can execute on. Engage with engineers on API designs, data models, and integration points, while also collaborating with design, data, and operations teams for broader initiatives. Strong UI/UX sensibilities and fintech domain knowledge will help you bridge discussions between disciplines and ensure solutions balance usability with technical excellence. Agile Project Management and Execution Lead the product development process in an agile environment, from sprint planning to release. Maintain a prioritized backlog in Linear and document decisions, requirements, and learnings in Notion. Facilitate agile ceremonies such as backlog grooming, stand-ups, and retrospectives, keeping the team focused and removing blockers. Work to shorten the feedback loop by ensuring user insights are quickly gathered, shared, and acted upon. Coordinate product releases in collaboration with engineering and DevOps, and ensure stakeholders are informed and prepared for changes. Why This Role Matters This is your chance to help reinvent how products are built in financial services. At Saaf, we’re using AI to transform the mortgage market, and as our first Product Manager, you’ll play a central role in shaping how both internal teams and external partners interact with our platform. You’ll bring fresh ideas to the table at a moment when AI is changing the very nature of workflows. Rather than following traditional SaaS playbooks, you’ll explore how AI can reimagine borrower and broker experiences, streamline internal processes, and meet the complex requirements of lenders, investors, and regulators.. The role is about curiosity, creativity, and precision: understanding the data that underpins mortgages, anticipating the demands of financial markets, and ensuring that every solution we design is compliant, scalable, and impactful. If you want to push the boundaries of product management in fintech, this is where you’ll make your mark. Requirements Experience and Domain Knowledge: 3+ years in product management, preferably within fintech, lending, or mortgage technology. Startup experience is a plus. User-Centric and Research Savvy: Proven ability to conduct user research and champion the user’s perspective. Hands-on experience with interviews, surveys, and usability testing is essential, as is the ability to turn insights into clear product direction. Empathy for end-users and an eye for strong design are key. Proven ability to work with complex, high-volume datasets and translate them into user-centric, compliant product experiences. Technical Acumen: Able to discuss APIs, data flows, and system architecture with engineering teams. Skilled at writing detailed product specs. A technical degree or prior software development experience is a plus. Data-Driven: Adept at defining KPIs and using metrics to guide prioritization. Always ready to ask, “What problem does this solve, and how will we measure success?” Agile and Tool Proficiency: Experienced in Scrum or Kanban environments. Proficient with design tools like Figma, and product management tools like Linear, Notion. Comfortable using Slack, and GitHub for communication and tracking. Communication and Collaboration: Strong communicator able to simplify complex ideas, build consensus, and facilitate cross-functional work. Adaptability and Drive: Thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments. Hands-on, execution-oriented, and proactive in solving problems. Benefits Competitive Salary Annual Performance Based Bonus Stock Option Plan Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision) Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays) Training & Development
