Global Dimensions is seeking a Senior Socio-Cultural Analyst for an upcoming opportunity in Quantico, VA. Senior Socio-Cultural Analysts will: Conduct All-Source analytic production of both standard and non-standard human geography (HG), as defined by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), which is “a major field of geography concerned with how place, space, and environment are both conditions of and consequences of human activities and human characteristics.” Analysis includes, but is not limited to, religious, linguistic, ethnic, social, tribal, and occupational domains in relation to geography and resources to characterize the dynamics of human groups worldwide. Incorporates expertise in sociology, cultural anthropology, demography, psychology, geography, economics, and political science. Provide subject matter expertise in situational awareness, intelligence production, and analysis for countries of interest as determined by the Government. Collaborate with Intelligence Community (IC) Agencies and Open-Source Libraries to identify and acquire necessary information and sources for the analytic process to create and exploit human geography datasets such as cultural, socio-economic, population, political, historical, and religious data, as well as terrain, land cover, and soil data. Identify, obtain, and exploit all available unique geospatial datasets from open, academic, and classified sources in all formats, ensuring compatibility with community interoperable formats, and guide the process of organizing this data into viable databases. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and user guides, including the Production Process Flow, Source Selection, Evaluation and Preparation, HG Production Methodology/Data Processing, HG Schemas/Templates/Metadata, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Criteria and Process, HG Data/Product Outputs, and HG Data/Product Dissemination/Archive/Feedback/Management, for Human Geography modeling on common Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) platforms. This includes briefing on the conceptual or theoretical basis for each model and the intended benefits. Provide the capability to exploit necessary data sources and user-controlled variables/indicators to enable users to produce specific datasets within their own exploitation environment. Provide subject matter expertise to select appropriate datasets and recommend weighting factors for various variables/indicators. Develop educational seminars for onsite personnel and online tutorials on the modeling capabilities of Situational Awareness Tools (SAT) using SOPs, explaining the conceptual and theoretical foundations of the models for MCIA Geospatial Intelligence Science and Analysis Division (GSD) staff and mission partners. Create a series of use case documents to educate end-users on the variables involved in running models with different datasets and indicators, and how to interpret the results in various common software packages. Develop new models or modify existing ones as needed, and develop additional best practice methods for optimizing results via Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) compliant web services. Models shall include, but are not limited to, vehicle mobility analysis, terrain analysis, economic counter-narcotics, counter-terrorism, hydrology, littoral, climatology, land use change, climate change, urbanization, natural disasters, societal vulnerability, ethnicity and tribal characteristics, environmental-food-water security, atrocities and violence, wired and wireless spectrum, population vulnerability, and other human geography domains. Develop methods for analyzing quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) model results and creating accuracy metrics for the results of SATs. Deliver relevant and timely Human Geography data, information, models, and tools that facilitate integration within a multi-intelligence environment. Stay informed of community advancements to develop unique uses for artificial intelligence, automation, and augmentation technologies (AAA) in human geography exploitation. Access data services that contribute to the enhancement of the human environment. Requirements TS/SCI Security Clearance Desired Experience: A minimum of 12 years of experience related to the specific labor category, with at least some of the experience occurring within the last 2 years. Desired Education: A Master's degree in a field related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; or a Bachelor's degree related to the labor category and an additional 5 years of senior-level experience, totaling 17 years, in lieu of a Master’s degree. Experienced in ArcGIS/ArcPro. Experience with SAT Tools and SAT Models (creating and QC’ing). Experience with ERDAS Imagine. Experience with commercially available imagery sources such as Worldview, LandScan, and PlanetSense. Demonstrates a deep understanding of the labor category activities necessary to fulfill mission requirements. Exhibits mastery in both qualitative and quantitative analytic methodologies and actively engages with academic or other fields that influence tradecraft development. Demonstrates the ability to define new, comprehensive, or unique research approaches that enable thorough assessments and contribute to high-level tasks. Provides in-depth analysis of analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and intra-IC boundaries, clearly articulating key findings. Demonstrates the ability to work independently with minimal oversight. Demonstrates the ability to review analytic products for logical arguments, adherence to tradecraft standards, and sufficient support for conclusions, regularly testing the analytic rigor of products.
