Small New York litigation firm seeks an experienced paralegal or junior attorney to assist with real property disputes. Typical matters involve: - Illegal building extensions, DOB (Department of Buildings) enforcement issues, license/access agreements, and Article 78 proceedings. - Private nuisance and related claims (light, air, view, encroachments). - Strategic research on procedural and substantive litigation options. What We’re Looking For: - Strong legal research skills (Lexis / Westlaw proficiency required). - Ability to go beyond “case dumps” and provide concise, outcome-oriented analysis: Will the court buy this argument, or not? - Familiarity with New York litigation, especially Article 78 proceedings and real property disputes, is strongly preferred. Excellent written communication skills — clear, organized, and practical. What to Submit: A writing sample (2–5 pages) that demonstrates: - Use of legal research with proper citations to primary authority. - A clear recommendation or conclusion (not just background law). - Resume with relevant experience (paralegal, law clerk, junior associate, etc.). Details: Freelance, part-time, remote. Compensation $35/hr. This role is ideal for an experienced NY litigation paralegal or a junior attorney who enjoys deep research and strategic analysis, and wants flexible work on interesting disputes.
