We are looking for a fast learning and detail-oriented Legal or Administrative Assistant Part-or full-time position at our fast-paced restraining order and criminal defense law firm. Compensation:Depending on Experience DOE ($20-25/hour) About this Position: We are a boutique law firm seeking a highly organized and proactive assistant to support our 2 attorneys, office manager, and 2 paralegals. This role is ideal for someone with (some) law firm experience who can take direction, scan emails and documents with efficiency, run to the courthouse, organize the office, interact with clients, and work well under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience with Word, great customer service, and be able to respond quickly to tasks assigned. Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities: - Provide day-to-day administrative support to attorneys, office manager, and paralegals. - Organize, manage, and maintain large volumes of emails, legal documents and client records. - Track and input data accurately in Excel spreadsheets and case management tools. - Assist with Discovery. - Conduct client follow-up and outreach via phone and email with professionalism and empathy. - Assist with intake forms, legal correspondence, and case file updates. - Support billing, invoicing, and expense tracking. - Translate and communicate with Spanish-speaking clients. Requirements: - Must be able to make physical visits to the Central Courthouse, Post Office, other law firms in Downtown, etc. - Prior experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or administrative role. - Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills. - High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities. - Ability to prioritize tasks and work under deadlines. - Ability to learn new software, procedures, and take direction. - Spanish fluency is a strong plus. PreferredQualifications (not required): - Experience in restraining orders, family law, and criminal defense. - Strong proficiency with Mac, Adobe, Microsoft Word, Gmail, and MyCase. - Strong writing and proofreading skills.
