Role and Responsibilities: The core mission of the Associate Attorney is to research, analyze and draft legal documents in ready-to- deliver fashion, be it for a client, government agency, or internally. Associate Attorneys are expected to spend a majority of their time on client work. Several years experience is required, but also, if you are some years out of the market for family / other reasons, that is OK, we need someone who understands the work and don't mind if you need to get up to speed on current practice trends. Prior law firm experience is required, as is direct engagement with clients. JD from a US law school and bar admission are also required. Qualifications J.D. with license to practice law in a US state, ideally California licensed. 4+ years of relevant legal experience (may be a combination of in-house and law firm). Strong contract drafting and redlining skills. Experience using playbooks and legal drafting and review standards to review and negotiating commercial agreements. Ability to work closely with members of the legal department to translate feedback into contract redlines and responses. Highly organized with the ability to manage projects from initial idea phases to the final deliverable. A diligent, independent worker with a bias towards action and moving projects and deliverables forward.
