Description

Summary: Rainscreen mechanics work with a variety of tools and measuring devices to complete a wide span of work tasks. They work with light-gauge and load-bearing steel framing, mounting brackets, support rails, z-girts, and hat channels to assemble a sub framing system. They are also responsible for installing insulation and flashings within and around the sub framing. Lastly, they install the finish panels (fiber cement, terracotta, metal panel, or glass panel) to the sub framing system and caulk as needed to complete the assembly. Duties and Responsibilities: • Follow directions of manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each project or job site. • Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks. • Ensure regulated and proper headgear, ear plugs, gloves, safety glasses and clothing are worn. • Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients. • Install brackets, sub framing, insulation, flashings, trims, and panels. • Measure, cut, or shape framing, insulation, trim, and panels as needed. • Help erect, level, and install sub framing and panels with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes. • Instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner. • Clean and clear debris, extra materials, and dirt/dust from jobsites. Job Requirements: • Able to work Monday-Friday with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Must be able to be flexible with work schedule. • High School Diploma or equivalent (experience may be substituted for education). • Reliable Transportation – go to sites in Metro DC as assigned/needed. • Able to handle and prioritize multiple assignments effectively. • Interface effectively, ethically and professionally with Pillar team members and subcontractors. • Communicate effectively in English (aural, verbal, and written). • Able to lift five to seventy pounds (5-70lbs), with or without assistance, frequently. • Able to sit, stand, bend, walk, climb, and remain in static positions for duration of shift. • Able to withstand exposure to heights, tight/confined spaces; work in dusty areas; work in temperature extremes; be expose to external elements (wind, rain, snow, etc.). • Possess strong desire, willingness and ability to learn new tasks. • Must be 18 years of age or older. • Must report to work on time as required. • Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug & alcohol screening. • Certifications required: Fall Protection, Mobile Elevated Work Platform.
