Acara Solutions has multiple openings for an Industrial Quality Inspector role for our partner located out in Plattsburgh, NY who specializes in Transporation Manufacturing. Here's what you will receive: Pay rate: $30-$32.69/hr Shift: 1st and 2nd shift available PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Industrial Quality Inspector ensures the compliance of products and parts delivered by the facilities. She/he performs inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures according to the applicable instructions on maintenance and operation services, and on products during their manufacturing process. S/he validates industrial services control plans. These control plans are written in close relationship with PME (Process & Manufacturing Engineering) teams. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES The Industrial Quality Inspector assists in developing and implementation of quality management system QMS/ QAPP. Quality Specialist will work to continuously improve the existing quality documentation and performing quality assessments/inspections and audits of other departments and quality processes to ensure that requirements are being implemented and followed. Monitors quality assurance program elements for all Departments of Phoenix Site. Performs Quarterly Reviews to verify status of level of compliance, deliverables, department KPIs, correspondence, final reports, contracts, requests for proposals (RFPs), provisions and inspection procedures. Accountabilities & Authorities: Perform quality inspections and ensure product compliance (check after rework), perform RCA for all deficiencies. Perform quality records inspection in accordance with industrial digital tools as required. Perform destructive & non-destructive examinations when required and qualified. Maintain inspection records per component, assembly, and vehicle. Performs quality assurance review of document control procedures, distribution, storage and retrieval of documents and training procedures. Conducts field surveillance with project and O&M team to build contractor commitment to quality and provides summaries of performance, quality of work and surveillance audits. Communicates with auditee on findings; issues quality action requests/ Nonconformance Reports (NCR) for identified deficiencies and interfaces with the auditee to investigate root cause. Approves corrective action plans based on root cause analysis and monitors effectiveness for compliance. Support teams in self-inspection, delegation of control (training, audit...) and quality inspection in conjunction with the Supervisor. Stop production in case of a defect that justifies mandatory rework. Build, implement & regularly update Quality Control Plans with REX of previous project execution. Act as Site contact/Super user of 8D tool and make sure that 8D tool is updated as soon as new information is available. Control the correct calibration of critical equipment and instrumentation used in the inspections. Participates on a variety of committees as assigned. Provide weekly / Monthly reports as required. Required Skills / Qualifications: Associate's degree, technical major preferred. Must be able to read drawings / specifications and familiar with a variety of test equipment. Minimum 7 years quality inspection experience within Maintenance industry. Awareness on processes and services Knowledge of APM 200 system Knowledge of quality tools such as 5-whys, 8D, Checklists, Pareto Analysis and problem solving. Mag Particle Test (MT) Penetrant Test (PT) Visual Test (VT) Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) Eddy Current Testing (ET) Electrical (less common, but in demand)
