Position: Lead Wood Finisher Job Description: Interbay Wood and Metal is a high-craft custom Cabinet and furniture shop looking to hire a finisher with three to five years of direct experience in a production environment. Interbay Wood and Metal, supports architecturally significant residential and commercial projects, providing custom kitchens, casework, stairwells, soaking tubs, bars, furniture, doors, and other specialty objects. Our wood shop is FSC certified. Candidate Requirements: • 3-5 years of finishing experience in a production environment. • Strong attention to detail. • Experience with color matching and adjusting tints/ shade coats. • Bleaching and cerusing. • Refined standards for quality, craft, aesthetics. • Perform prep surface pre-treatment, conditioning, and cleaning as required (sanding, chemically, mechanically) to prepare wood and/ or metal and surfaces for stain, clearcoat, paint, or patina application. • Monitor quality throughout finishing process steps and report issues to leadership as they arise. • Excellent time management, problem solving, planning, and judgment skills. • Excellent communication skills, including asking questions and finding teachable moments. • Must be team player with exceptional work ethic always looking to improve. • Experience with air assisted, HVLP and gravity fed spray equipment. • Cleanliness. • Ability to establish priorities, goals, deadlines and meet them. • Ability to be flexible, shifting priorities and projects as needed. • Interest in growing a career at Interbay. Foreman will supervise installation and dismantling of equipment, including the erection and breakdown of scaffolds, and larger tent structures floorings, mezzanine, etc. Perform all responsibilities with a focus on the needs of customers and in accordance with company standards. Oversee and enforce company safety standards. Requirements Duties and Responsibilities: Primary duties are the installation and removal of Mezzanine and Tent structures as well as other duties assigned to in the field or within the warehouse. Construction, installation, and removal of multiple styles of stages, floors, and tent structures Ensure full client satisfaction in relation to the quality of service and finished product within planned time schedules Ensure appropriate safety measures are followed; including wearing and use of safety equipment Carrying, loading, and unloading of materials from truck to installation location on site Respectful interactions with multi-lingual team, leaders, and clients Uphold company safety standards and ensure appropriate safety measures are followed Clean and prepare construction sites, including removing debris and materials You are responsible for using the most current timekeeping system and making sure all of your employees under your supervision are using the time keeping system correctly. We do residential only, with single family homes being the majority of our work. We’ve been in business for over 30 years and have given many families their dream space. Our job scope ranges from bathroom remodels to second story additions and everything in-between. Job details: Our lead carpenters / site leads are responsible for a job from start to finish, with reading blueprints, managing subcontractors, managing carpenters/laborers, and performing the work. This includes work pertaining to site prep, material ordering, demo, framing, concrete work, interior & exterior trim, setting windows and doors, drywall patching, cabinets, and clean up. Someone in this position needs to have excellent time management, ability to delegate, and have experience managing remodel projects. Our ideal candidate would have their own tools while we have company tools for specialty applications. We do provide a tool repair program. Since we are residential remodelers, a background check will be required upon hire. Working Hours: Full time (40 hours) Monday-Friday, year-round. Commute: Home to jobsite. Jobsite locations ranging from Edmonds, Kenmore, Woodinville, Bellevue, Issaquah, and Seattle / West Seattle. We do our best to keep the commutes local.
