Solar Installer Job Description – Multiple Levels (DOE $20–$32/hr + Benefits) Position Overview Solar Installers are responsible for the safe and efficient installation of photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential and commercial properties. The role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and effective teamwork. Installers are categorized into three levels based on experience, skillset, and responsibility. The three tiers of the position are below. Level 1 – Lead Solar Installer (Roof Lead) | $29 - $32 per hour (DOE) Responsibilities: Lead installation crews and oversee the full installation process of solar PV systems.
