WHAT WE ARE OFFERING We would start you off between $21 - $24 an hour depending on where your skill level is. If you prove yourself to be a great fit after the integration period (your first 3 months), the maximum this position pays is $24 an hour. If you are seeking a higher rate, you would have to apply for a higher position. Lakewood has a lot of room for growth and promotions to higher ranked positions, which we encourage and help employees achieve. After your integration period, you’ll will receive the following benefits: *A raise to accommodate your proven skill level. *The option to get health insurance (we contribute 50%). *The option to receive our company’s discounted dental insurance (we don’t contribute). *40 hours of paid-time-off (PTO) a year. (PTO does not become effective until 1 year with Lakewood Construction as a full time employee.) *Company clothing *Our in-house CPA (certified public accountant) can file your taxes (starting with your 2024 tax return) for free if you (and your spouse) have a basic tax return (i.e., no side-businesses, rental properties, etc.). WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are seeking to hire a Carpenter Apprentice with some experience in either framing or concrete foundation carpentry. However, there may be times that this type of work isn’t available, so we expect you to have willingness to learn the following tasks: *Interior trim *Setting windows and exterior doors You are required to have a basic set of tools including the following: *Tool bags *Drill set *Skill saw *Sawzall *Master 5 Construction Calculator And of course, we expect you to have good interpersonal skills when working in our crew. Additionally, the type of clientele we work with expects us to dress professionally. You can expect to work 40 hours (overtime is rare) a week from 7:00am to 3:30pm from Monday through Friday.

We have an immediate opening for a WORKING Pipe Layer/Heavy Equipment Operator. Candidates must have at least 3-5 years of experience installing water and sewer main line/services, storm drains. When necessary, you will also perform routine maintenance on the machines or recommend they be sent out for repairs. Pipe Layer/Heavy Equipment Operator Duties and Responsibilities: -Responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains and pipelines. Ensures ground is prepped and trenches dug out for pipes. Aligns pipes and seals joints together with cement, glue or plastic welding. -Install sanitary and storm water sewer structures and pipe systems -Cut pipes to required lengths -Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction -Align and position pipes to prepare them for connection -Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers, must be able to shoot grade -Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue -Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices -Cover pipes with earth or other materials -Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools -Train others in pipe-laying techniques Other General Labor and construction related duties as required. Requirements: -Must be able to follow building plans or blueprints and instructions from supervisors, lay out the job, and work efficiently with the materials and tools of their trade; -Must be physically fit to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (in excess of 50 lbs.); -The ability to comprehend and follow specific instructions; -Interpersonal competencies that include a drive for results, the need for closure, effective oral communication skills, organization, planning, trust, respect, being dependable and cooperation. -Ability to maintain and track all tools required to perform tasks. -Good housekeeping skills. • Fully understand how to safely operate equipment • Inspect large equipment before and after use to ensure they are working properly • Communicate with dispatch and fellow employees as needed • Follow all safety procedures while operating equipment • Maintain detailed haul/loader logs • Detailed tracking and reporting of working hours and job locations • Adhere to company rules and regulations • Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs when necessary • Report needs for larger repairs to the appropriate parties • Make safety a priority at all times • 3+ years of experience working with heavy equipment • Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards • Must pass a background check and drug test (these are done randomly throughout employment) • Self-starter who works well with others and independently, disciplined, dependable and resourceful, high level of composure and good stress management Please send resume, references and wage requirements.
