Bicycle mechanic (San Francisco)

Job description: Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of current and core bicycle components with a focus on high-end. We are a small shop and are looking for someone with friendly communication skills. As a Mechanic, you will be expected to complete a small list of jobs each day, while interacting with customers and ensuring they receive exceptional service while effectively managing their service needs. Duties Greet customers and assess their service needs in a friendly and professional manner. Document customer concerns and note relevant technical information for accurate diagnosis. Provide estimates for repairs and services based on mechanical knowledge and prior maintenance experience. Maintain clear communication with customers regarding the status of their bikes throughout the service process. Master and use efficiently a POS system, documenting service work and shop sales. Promote additional services or products to enhance customer satisfaction and drive sales. Skills 3 years experience as a service technician or mechanic in a professional bike shop. We are not looking for mechanics from other trades. Current knowledge on components and compatibility. Maintain a clean workspace and respect provided tools. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage with clients positively. Service writing experience is a plus. Retail sales experience is a plus, with inventory management skills. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role. Must be able to work weekends. A passion for cycling or related activities is beneficial but not mandatory.
