We work predominantly in the Montpelier area, but occasionally travel to Stowe or the Mad River Valley. We work Monday-Thursday, 7am-5pm 4+ years of full time homebuilding experience preferred Carpenter applicants should be proficient the following areas and be able to perform these tasks with little to no instruction. -be able to back frame a wall plate if laid out -build headers off a schedule -cursory plan reading -string and true a wall -install wall/roof/deck sheathing, including establishing a starter course at agreed elevation -window/door install (new and existing construction) -vapor barrier install and taping (siga, intello, mento, etc) -soffit and facia instillation (1x square edge, nothing crazy) -siding instillation, ship lap, clapboard, board and batten -proficiency with range of measuring equipment -a firm grasp of basic roof and stair geometry, even if you haven't done much cutting Lead Carpenter applicants should be able to provide instruction and lead a crew on all the tasks listed above, in addition to many others, this list is only meant to provide a benchmark of skills necessary.
