Procon is seeking a Construction Inspector for NASA projects, based primarily at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspection related to complex aerospace projects. The position requires the candidate to review engineering drawings and specifications, monitor ongoing construction activities, perform inspections, and ensure that all work complies with established quality standards. Requirements Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experience, preferably within the aerospace or complex engineering environment. Strong comprehension of engineering principles and construction methods. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is required. Experience with project management software (e.g., Prolog, Primavera) is a plus. Certifications OSHA 30-hour construction safety certification. Any relevant NASA-specific certifications are a plus. NICET certification in construction inspection is preferred. Specialized training related to aerospace construction and inspections is an advantage. Responsibilities & Duties Inspect roofing and related building envelope systems during all phases of construction, repair, and maintenance at NASA facilities. Review construction documents, shop drawings, and material submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications and NASA requirements. Monitor contractor work for compliance with codes, safety regulations, and project schedules. Conduct field inspections and document findings with detailed reports, including photographs and recommendations. Verify installation methods, material quality, and workmanship meet contractual and industry standards (NRCA, ASTM, OSHA, and NASA technical requirements). Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and safety personnel to resolve technical issues. Provide input on corrective actions for deficiencies or non-compliant work. Maintain accurate daily inspection logs and submit progress updates. Support quality assurance/quality control efforts and assist in project closeout inspections. Compensation & Schedule Starting Pay: $28/hour After 6 Months: Increase to $30/hour Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM Hours: 35–40 hours per week Pay Frequency: Biweekly Worker-Ownership: Eligible after initial period Responsibilities Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections (fluids, tires, safety equipment, etc.) Follow designated routes using the routing app or as assigned by the operations manager Safely operate a garbage truck to collect source-separated organic waste Load and unload totes and containers (must be able to lift/push/pull over 100 lbs) Operate hydraulic hand controls for lifting and disposal at designated facilities Maintain a courteous, professional demeanor with customers Adhere to company policies and all local, state, and federal driving laws Complete route logs and other reports as required Perform preventative maintenance and report issues promptly Qualifications Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of commercial driving experience Familiarity with GPS, routing apps, and service logs Clean driving record and understanding of DOT regulations Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Basic mechanical knowledge for inspections and troubleshooting Waste collection experience is a plus, but not required.
