Award winning barbecue business Slows Bar BQ is seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to helm the kitchen of our new Ann Arbor restaurant. The ideal candidate has a strong, proven leadership background. The Head Chef has a thorough understanding of the importance of a healthy company culture and excellent team morale and continuously works to develop and improve our culture while leading the kitchen team. Summary of Position Directly responsible for all kitchen functions and assigned tasks, including: ensuring high standards are met and guest expectations are exceeded through consistent execution of menu items; food and labor budgets are met; sanitation and cleanliness; training of employees in methods of cooking, preparation, portion and cost control in a high volume facility. Duties & Responsibilities Continuously improve company culture using strong leadership techniques Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards. Adhere to purchasing and labor budgets. Develop, document, implement, and maintain systems. Work with the Executive Chef and GM to make employment and termination decisions. Continuously recruit talented cooks. Provide orientation of company and department rules, policies and procedures and training of new kitchen team members. Provide continuous feedback and constructive coaching to improve team effectiveness and morale. Record check-ins in files for later reference. Lead by example to ensure guest service standards and efficient, on-budget operations by working any station as needed. Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, performance reviews, memos to file, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner. Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs. Perform weekly inventory stock counts and daily per shift hot counts. Ensure accuracy. Maintain daily shift logs Communicate consistently with the General Manager, Corporate Executive Chef and owners. Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen staff, and guests. Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift 70 pounds. Communicates with Kitchen management about stock needs. Follows and upholds all health codes and sanitation regulations. Uses waste control guidelines and records all waste on the Waste Sheet. TA Travel Center/LV Petroleum is looking for a Site General Manager for the Kingsville, TX travel center. The Site General Manager will be responsible for day-to-day operations pertaining to all site functions. The Site GM will hire, train, coach, mentor, and work alongside all store employees including all other managers. Building a culture of accountability while keeping turnover low is critical to the site’s success. The Site General Manager will be expected to maintain store image standards, customer service standards, food safety and freshness standards; provide clean lot, pumps, restrooms and showers. This position will require someone with a thorough Food Service/QSR understanding including food cost, labor cost, shrink and waste management techniques and how each relates to and impacts overall profitability. Summary: The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. General Accounting Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures. Participate in mid-year and year end audit. Reconciles designated GL accounts by due date set on financial calendar. Uploads reports from AP software to GL accounting software. Sets up new accounts in GL when necessary. Record necessary Journal Entries including accruals for expenses. Input of reclassifications of GL codes in AMS. Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies. Run accounting reports in AMS software for managers when requested. Accounts Payable Utilize and manage 3rd party payor system, Concur, to pay vendors. Coordinates with Concur to maintain accuracy of paid and accrual reports. Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Setup and maintain A/P Vendors in Concur and\or AMS. Request and maintain archive of the necessary documentation from vendors. (W-9’s, Tax Exemption Certificates, Certificates of Liability Insurance, etc.). Process check requests for invoices when the 3rd party payor software cannot be utilized; route to department heads for approval, verify account coding, and enter in AMS. Process and Scan checks.  Set-up ACH & wires for payments in bank. Enters payments into AMS and files using DocStar Research A/P items. Process A/P check runs and match with appropriate invoice, obtain necessary signatures on each check, and prepare for mailing. Reconcile vendor statements. Process employee expense reports in Concur. Pay utility bills and all other vendors that accept credit cards with P-Card. Accounts Receivable Reconcile Cash Log. Record deposits in AMS. Pull payments for AR customers – Set up payments in bank and send email to customer. Follow up with past due AR accounts. Process invoices for Misc. AR (ex. grape sales, bulk wine sales). Prepare retail room cash deposit and take cash to bank semi-monthly. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Knowledge of general financial accounting. Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products specifically Excel, and accounting software. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field. 2+ years of related experience. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
