We are seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Field Technician to join our client's team. As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment used in various industries. Your role will involve troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing inspections, and completing necessary repairs or part replacements. You will work directly at client sites, ensuring that the equipment is functioning optimally and minimizing downtime. Attention to detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety are essential for success in this role. Consults with Service Supervisor to plan effective work and travel schedule, giving priority to customer need, considering location of machine and availability of parts. Diagnose malfunctions: repairs and/or replaces worn and defective parts; installs new assemblies, adjusts devices and controls - to correct malfunctions and to keep machines in operating condition. Provides tools and parts and arranges for facilities to perform repair work (usually on customer premises). Inspects, operates, and tests machines upon initial delivery, at specified inspection intervals and upon completion of any repair work to ensure proper functioning of equipment and its components. Reports to Service Supervisor such information as name of customer, description of machine, nature of malfunction, the time involved in working, driving, and waiting, mileage, etc., so that proper accounts can be charged, and proper billing can be made. Strives to increase technical skills through attendance at company-sponsored vocational schools, annual training meeting of departmental personnel and reading of technical literature. Promotes and enhances the company image by maintaining a neat, personal appearance and by keeping the service truck in a clean, polished, and orderly condition. Experienced or advanced servicemen are expected to serve as troubleshooters on recurring or unusual problems, conferring with Engineering, Manufacturing, and other service personnel to resolve. Experienced or advanced servicemen will be expected to train new servicemen or to supervise a team of servicemen in the assembling or servicing of large units or in a joint effort on large repair jobs. Columbia Research Unit (CRU) is part of an international network called the HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN). We are doing a study called HVTN 807 to test an experimental HIV vaccine, as well as compare the body’s immune system response when the participant stops taking their HIV medicine (group 1) versus those who continue taking their HIV medication (group 2). We are looking for people with HIV who are: undetectable, and 18–60 years old. Study participation involves: being part of one of two study groups, 6–7 visits over 15 months, and receiving two injections of the test vaccine. A Service Technician has a wide variety of skills and will be able to work through difficult problems. This person installs, maintains & repairs fuel dispensers; submersible fuel pumps; service station site controllers; credit card readers; cash register consoles; pumping PCW; tank & line monitoring equipment; various other types of equipment found in service station and convenience gas stations. · Work in a safe manner  · Understand and comply with applicable fire safety, OSHA, and EPA rules and regulations.  · Observes, analyzes, and determines action for service and repair of equipment. · Performs necessary repairs to correct analyzed situations in a professional and productive manner. · Performs repairs and scheduled maintenance on equipment  · Performs factory authorized modifications per specifications. · Responsible for maintaining tools required for performing the job effectively and safely. · Responsible for following customer’s safety and housekeeping guidelines when performing repairs at customer site. · Resolve warranty calls on dispensers and tank monitors.   · Perform service calls as needed on an after-hours basis · Perform break fix and preventative maintenance on service station electronics, computers, and the fuel dispensing systems, including electronic, plumbing and mechanical work.  · Provide quality customer service that exceeds customer expectation by ensuring that all assigned duties are completed in a cost-effective manner.  · Perform required prerequisite work necessary to obtain and maintain certification from original equipment manufacturers. · Will be required to travel as needed. We are a busy, established dog walking company in Astoria Queens looking to hire a reliable, honest, patient, and outdoorsy animal lover to join our team. This position starts out part time at about 20-25 hours per week and has potential to grow if you are interested and dependable. You will need to be an independent worker, love animals, and have good time management skills. We work mostly with dogs but also with cats and small mammals. Please read requirements! -Must live in Astoria or the surrounding neighborhoods. -Must have a smartphone with data able to call and text and strong communication skills. -Must feel comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and breeds and interested in learning about animal behavior. -Must have a bike and know how to ride it. You will need it to get around between appointments. No exceptions. -Dog walking experience preferred but we will train the right candidate with paid training. -Must enjoy being outside and understand that means working in all types of weather--snow, rain, and heat. -Must be fit and enjoy light physical activity, you will be on your feet while you are at work for at least 4 hours at a time. -Must be over 21. -Must be good at time management and professional, you will be expected to stick to a strict schedule. -Must be polite and well-groomed, treat clients and their homes with respect. -Must be available the occasional weekend, evening, or holiday. Extra work will not be excessive, but if you aren't interested in working any weekends or holidays, this position is not a good fit. -Must be available consistently M-F between the hours of 11 and 4. We also offer 11-6 shifts. This is not a good position for actors and other creative types that will need to call out last minute and frequently. This is a great position for creative types that are busy at night and are looking for extra work during the day. -Must commit to working for at least 8 months--this is important, and preference will be given to those who can stay longer. Our clients and pups need regularity. Compensation: Our hourly employee pay is the highest in Queens. This position is for an employee, NOT a contractor. This is an hourly W2 position, so you are fairly paid for all your time on the job, not a per dog rate. We can guarantee you hours each week according to your needs and your merit, unlike contractor dog walking jobs. Since we use employees instead of contractors, we withold tax from your pay so that you aren't stuck with a tax bill at the end of the year from your 1099. -$19-21/hr, consummate with experience working with animals. -Paid vacation time, up to 40 hours will be accrued based on your hours. -Worker's compensation, disability, and liability insurance.
