We are a busy, established dog walking company in Astoria Queens looking to hire a reliable, honest, patient, and outdoorsy animal lover to join our team. This position starts out part time at about 20-25 hours per week and has potential to grow if you are interested and dependable. You will need to be an independent worker, love animals, and have good time management skills. We work mostly with dogs but also with cats and small mammals. Please read requirements! -Must live in Astoria or the surrounding neighborhoods. -Must have a smartphone with data able to call and text and strong communication skills. -Must feel comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and breeds and interested in learning about animal behavior. -Must have a bike and know how to ride it. You will need it to get around between appointments. No exceptions. -Dog walking experience preferred but we will train the right candidate with paid training. -Must enjoy being outside and understand that means working in all types of weather--snow, rain, and heat. -Must be fit and enjoy light physical activity, you will be on your feet while you are at work for at least 4 hours at a time. -Must be over 21. -Must be good at time management and professional, you will be expected to stick to a strict schedule. -Must be polite and well-groomed, treat clients and their homes with respect. -Must be available the occasional weekend, evening, or holiday. Extra work will not be excessive, but if you aren't interested in working any weekends or holidays, this position is not a good fit. -Must be available consistently M-F between the hours of 11 and 4. We also offer 11-6 shifts. This is not a good position for actors and other creative types that will need to call out last minute and frequently.
