HVAC Service Technician

Paints interior and exterior of campus buildings, facilities and equipment; Repairs and installs drywall, tape, and finish. This is a full time, benefits eligible, hourly position with a hiring range of $24.47-$30.59 per hour. Core Responsibilities: Paints interior and exterior of buildings, facilities and equipment, preparing properly and using appropriate equipment.   Tapes sheetrock walls, plastering and sanding when needed; refinishes furniture.   Paints signs and sets up vinyl letter signs; varnishes floors, cabinets and doors; assist with miscellaneous carpentry projects as necessary.   Procures materials and tools and delivers them to the job site; cleans tools/equipment daily at end of work shift.   Performs associated Facilities Services maintenance work as requested, including but not limited to: snow removal, event set-up and clean up, truck loading and unloading and grounds maintenance.   Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors   Performs all duties in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with Middlebury College and departmental policies and procedures.   Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; On-the-job or vocational training in use of painting equipment.   Knowledge of paint types, mixing, prepping, and painting; general carpentry experience preferred.   Minimum 2 years previous experience painting, drywall, and wallpapering preferred.   Must have valid driver's license, clean driving record, and own vehicle for transportation of self, tools and for procuring small materials.   Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Requires long periods of time standing, frequent bending, twisting and reaching, especially overhead.
