Position Overview The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance of the facility to support a healthy, safe, and welcoming environment for clients, staff, and visitors. This position plays a vital role in infection control, health, and hygiene throughout the treatment center. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of working independently while adhering to company protocols and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Facility Cleaning & Sanitation Clean and sanitize rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, stairways, and other facility areas. Vacuum, shampoo, and spot clean carpets, rugs, furniture, and draperies using appropriate cleaning equipment. Mop and disinfect floors to maintain a clean, safe environment. Clean and disinfect kitchens, including appliances, utensils, and food preparation surfaces. Waste & Biohazard Management Empty wastebaskets and transport trash to designated disposal areas following safety protocols. Handle and dispose of biohazardous waste in accordance with regulations and company procedures. Inventory & Supply Management Transport and restock linens, towels, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. Refill dispensers for soap, toilet tissue, and paper towels as needed. Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisor of supply needs. Safety & Compliance Follow all infection control guidelines to prevent the spread of illness and maintain a healthy environment. Identify and report maintenance issues or safety hazards. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations, ensuring patient confidentiality at all times. Follow all company policies, safety protocols, and confidentiality guidelines. Team Collaboration & Professionalism Foster a positive, respectful work environment by demonstrating teamwork and effective communication. Attend staff meetings and training as required. Perform additional cleaning and support duties as assigned by management. Requirements Prior experience in housekeeping, custodial services, or a healthcare setting preferred. Excellent multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize and demonstrate flexibility. Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and safe handling procedures. Ability to follow infection control protocols and safety guidelines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must maintain punctual and reliable attendance. Columbia Research Unit (CRU) is part of an international network called the HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN). We are doing a study called HVTN 807 to test an experimental HIV vaccine, as well as compare the body’s immune system response when the participant stops taking their HIV medicine (group 1) versus those who continue taking their HIV medication (group 2). We are looking for people with HIV who are: undetectable, and 18–60 years old. Study participation involves: being part of one of two study groups, 6–7 visits over 15 months, and receiving two injections of the test vaccine. We are a busy, established dog walking company in Astoria Queens looking to hire a reliable, honest, patient, and outdoorsy animal lover to join our team. This position starts out part time at about 20-25 hours per week and has potential to grow if you are interested and dependable. You will need to be an independent worker, love animals, and have good time management skills. We work mostly with dogs but also with cats and small mammals. Please read requirements! -Must live in Astoria or the surrounding neighborhoods. -Must have a smartphone with data able to call and text and strong communication skills. -Must feel comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and breeds and interested in learning about animal behavior. -Must have a bike and know how to ride it. You will need it to get around between appointments. No exceptions. -Dog walking experience preferred but we will train the right candidate with paid training. -Must enjoy being outside and understand that means working in all types of weather--snow, rain, and heat. -Must be fit and enjoy light physical activity, you will be on your feet while you are at work for at least 4 hours at a time. -Must be over 21. -Must be good at time management and professional, you will be expected to stick to a strict schedule. -Must be polite and well-groomed, treat clients and their homes with respect. -Must be available the occasional weekend, evening, or holiday. Extra work will not be excessive, but if you aren't interested in working any weekends or holidays, this position is not a good fit. -Must be available consistently M-F between the hours of 11 and 4. We also offer 11-6 shifts. This is not a good position for actors and other creative types that will need to call out last minute and frequently. This is a great position for creative types that are busy at night and are looking for extra work during the day. -Must commit to working for at least 8 months--this is important, and preference will be given to those who can stay longer. Our clients and pups need regularity. Compensation: Our hourly employee pay is the highest in Queens. This position is for an employee, NOT a contractor. This is an hourly W2 position, so you are fairly paid for all your time on the job, not a per dog rate. We can guarantee you hours each week according to your needs and your merit, unlike contractor dog walking jobs. Since we use employees instead of contractors, we withold tax from your pay so that you aren't stuck with a tax bill at the end of the year from your 1099. -$19-21/hr, consummate with experience working with animals. -Paid vacation time, up to 40 hours will be accrued based on your hours. -Worker's compensation, disability, and liability insurance.
