Ash & Harris Executive Search is looking for a Tax Manager Overview: A leading professional tax and bookkeeping services firm in Boxborough, MA, is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead their team. This pivotal role involves managing complex tax engagements for a diverse clientele, including individuals, businesses, and trusts. The ideal candidate will be a strategic advisor, ensuring compliance, driving tax savings, and fostering strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities: Lead client engagements, building trusted relationships by advising on complex tax matters, risk mitigation, and savings opportunities. Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, businesses, and trusts. Deliver proactive tax planning strategies to optimize clients' financial positions. Manage the full accounting and tax cycles for high-net-worth clients across various industries. Represent clients in IRS and state tax audits, providing expert support and resolution strategies. Mentor, oversee, and contribute to the professional growth of junior tax staff. Implement and maintain firm tax policies, procedures, and internal controls. Continuously stay up to date with evolving tax laws and industry developments. Requirements: Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA certification or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is required. Experiences Proven experience (5+ years preferred) in public accounting or a professional tax firm. Extensive experience preparing and reviewing complex returns for individuals, businesses, and trusts. Demonstrated experience in client representation during IRS and state audits. Strong experience in tax planning and consulting. Prior experience supervising or mentoring staff is essential. Other In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and compliance. Proficiency with tax software and accounting systems. Exceptional client relationship management and communication skills.
