Dane Street is expanding our physician panel as we have new openings for providers who have available, independent exam space and are interested in supporting our Government Services division, which performs Medical Determination Exams for Veterans of the United States Military. Dane Street was founded in 2008 as an Independent Review Organization (IRO) and has become a national leader in Independent Medical Exams, Peer Reviews, and other physician advisory services.  We are working with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to address the backlog of these exams, and there are currently a considerable number of exams available in your area. These exams are crucial in the VA process for determining the benefits Veterans can receive because of service-connected health issues. As Physician Reviewer/Advisor for Independent Medical Exams (IME), you will utilize clinical expertise and reviews insurance appeals, and prospective and retrospective claims. The Physician Reviewer will provide an interpretation of the medical necessity of services provided by other healthcare professionals in compliance with client specific policies, nationally recognized evidence-based guidelines, and standards of care. Requirements Reviews all medical records and addresses each question posed by the client utilizing client specific criteria or other nationally recognized evidence-based criteria Ensures that the rationale for the determination is clear, concise, and contains adequate supporting documentation to substantiate the decision Identifies, critiques, and utilizes current criteria and resources such as national, state, and professional association guidelines and peer-reviewed literature that support sound and objective decision-making and rationales in reviews; refrains from using case studies, cohorts, and the like to make decisions due to their limited sample sizes Provides copies of any criteria utilized in a review with the report in a timely manner Returns cases on or before the due date and time Makes telephone calls as mandated by the state and/or client specifics Maintains proper credentialing and state licenses and any special certifications or requirements necessary to perform the job Attends all required orientation and training Performs other duties as assigned including identifying and responding to quality assurance issues, complaints, regulatory issues, depositions, court appearances, or audits Board certification required, active practice required PLEASE BE AWARE: In the interest of the security of all parties, Dane Street will never conduct interviews via text or request checks from candidates for any reason including the purchase of equipment.  Benefits Robust opportunity for supplemental income Schedule flexibility and predictable work hours - You choose services and case types, dictate volume, and conduct exams and reviews based on your schedule availability No doctor/patient relationship is established and no treatment is provided. Live-In Rates -During a Live-In shift a caregiver will typically maintain a work schedule of sixteen (16) hours of work and eight (8) hours of non-working, unpaid sleep time. -Up to 3 days a week in Seattle. Up to 5 days a week outside of Seattle. -In general earnings are between $310-$320/Day at minimum. Additional premiums pay for couples, or additional heavy care. Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon to join our team in The Bronx, NY, for Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs). This role offers flexible scheduling, allowing you to select or decline assignments based on your availability. Key Responsibilities: Review Medical Records: Thoroughly review and analyze patient medical documents related to orthopedic conditions. Conduct Physical Exams: Perform in-person evaluations of patients with orthopedic issues. Address Clinical Questions: Respond to clinical queries from insurance carriers regarding orthopedic matters. Prepare Reports: Deliver detailed IME reports within an expected turnaround time of 5 days. Key Features: Flexibility: Choose the cases you want to accept or decline based on your schedule. Compensation: Competitive rates based on your individual fee schedule. Organized Documentation: All necessary medical documents will be provided in an organized manner.
