Stamping Press Operator HIROTEC Manufacturing America, located in Fayetteville, Tennessee, is part of the HIROTEC Group, headquartered in Hiroshima, Japan. With a US headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI, HIROTEC Group operates 32 facilities in eight countries. Currently, we are seeking a Stamping Press Operator to become a part of the HIROTEC team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for setting up and operating stamping press to produce products in accordance with customer specifications and instructions. Completes mechanical tasks associated with die set-up, adjustments, breakdown, coil changes, die changeovers, etc. Performs in-press troubleshooting. Follows safety policies and procedures, including lock out tag out procedures. Performs assigned work to time standards and quality and safety expectations. Makes routine decisions and use problem solving to troubleshoot and makes minor repairs to press/die malfunctions or issues or seeks further assistance from supervisor or maintenance staff. Examines the finished product to ensure no quality defects and meets customer and internal standards and specifications. Performs first-piece and in-process quality inspections. Maintains a constant watch of die and stock to prevent mishits and jamming of parts. Maintains a clean and safe work area, removes excess material/scrap, applies lubricants as needed. Reports and documents basic material, production, equipment, and /or quality control issues. Completes required documentation/paperwork, manually or by data entry, accurately and timely. Ability to operate overhead crane and material handling equipment including forklifts. Ability to read work instructions and utilize measurement tools. Other duties and projects may be assigned based on the operational objectives of the company. Ideal candidate should have High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of progressive stamping press experience and/or training in automotive/manufacturing environment is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Overhead crane and forklift experience are preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have a sound technical aptitude with a thorough understanding of stamping, automation, and manufacturing applications and ability to resolve complex issues. This position operates CNC machinery, secondary equipment, and grinders to create metallic and nonmetallic workpieces. Machines we operate: Mazak, Mori Seiki - Lathe/Turning Eurotech - Turning/Swiss Technique/Bar Feeder Haas - Vertical Milling Makino, Mazak - Horizontal Milling ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform machine operation and startup, restarting the machine, adjusts tooling to maintain proper sizes, replaces broken or worn tooling. Verify conformance of work piece to specifications, using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and go-no-go gauges. Secures all tooling and instruments required; Positions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers, or fixtures. Understand how to adjust work offsets. Understand how to adjust the speed and feed of the machine according to different part specifications. Observes daily preventative machine maintenance: proper coolant levels, filters, fan operation, cleans machines, etc. Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor; may include department transfers to meet production needs. Make regular checks on the water level in the cooling tank and ensure that the profile is centered on the hot air tunnel belt. Ensure samples are available for the Q.C. Inspector and measurements are done to the specified frequencies. Pack or cut to the cut length specifications the extruded profile as instructed. Ensure printing and logo is correct and is in accordance with the drawing. Follow quality procedures, document, and record all required process control information. Qualifications & Experience Must be 18 years of age or older. High School diploma or equivalent experience. Must be able to use or can be trained on various types of measuring tools related to our stamping and gasket manufacturing process. Demonstrates the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read, write and comprehend sophisticated instructions, correspondence, and reports. Requires good mobility and involves considerable lifting (less than 35 lbs.), pulling, bending, standing and walking. Working conditions The incumbent in this role spends almost 100% of their time in the plant environment, which may involve varying degrees of physical labor such as standing and walking for long periods of time, lifting, pushing and pulling. Job Title: Heat Treat Operator Furnaces: 4 Location: Warren MI Shift: 1st  Pay: 23.31 to start. Pay raises coming soon due to union negotiations Summary Will perform operations in the Heat Treat area as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities ·         Conduct light duty maintenance, to have furnaces available for processing work orders (confined space work will be subcontracted to vendor base).  Maintenance includes maintaining flow scopes in good order and minor electrical trouble shooting and repairs – i.e replacing heating elements.  ·         Read work tickets generated in the lab  ·         Group parts to be processed together as permissible  ·         Make up loads to process in the furnaces, either manually or using a hoist  ·         Using a roller cart, transfer a tray with a basket of parts on it, to the furnaces and push the load into the furnaces.  ·         Set the furnace cycle, times, atmospheres and monitor the progress of each cycle in each furnace.  ·         When the cycle is completed, reverse the motions to unload parts back into the original containers.  ·         Copper plate small parts (i.e. retainers), through progressive tank dipping on the plating line and dip strip the copper when the cycle is completed.  ·         Charge and discharge the chromizing furnace once per day in the moor – this requires loosening and then retightening 8 bolts on each of the two chromizing furnaces.  ·         Maintaining appropriate documentation with each work order, such as signing off furnace processing charts.  ·         Occasionally putting parts into the -100 degree F. freezer.  ·         Shot peening of retainers  Requirements ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMICAL CONTACTS:                  In the Heat Treat Department, employees come in short duration contacts with the following chemicals:  ·         Quench oils, lubricating oils, tri-valent chrome (solid chrome), zirconium, ammonium iodide, hexavalent chromium (chromic acid), sulfuric acid, cupric sulfate, endothermic gas, natural gas, anhydrous ammonia.    Furnace elevated temperatures, up to 1750 degree F.    Critical Competencies Demonstrated mechanical aptitude Ability to understand and follow work instructions Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word & Excel ·         This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  As a result, all applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR.  ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee. ·         This position is subject to policies and procedures set forth by the State Department and applicants who do not meet such requirements will not be eligible for the position.
