Job Title Mold Setter/Technician Location: 18 1/2 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, MI Job Type: Full-Time Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM) Wage: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour, plus a $0.75 afternoon shift premium Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Injection Molding Technician to support production operations through mold changes, equipment maintenance, material handling, and process troubleshooting. This hands-on role plays a critical part in ensuring manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and operational safety in a fast-paced injection molding environment. Key Responsibilities Perform mold changes efficiently and document mold change times. Maintain and manage regrind material systems. Change materials as needed and clean oil and water from work areas. Assist with troubleshooting and adjustments on injection molding machines, including robotic and end-of-arm tooling. Support machine operators and provide coverage during breaks. Work with maintenance staff to assist in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs. Monitor and assess molding processes for quality and consistency. Maintain cleanliness of the plant and follow all safety and environmental procedures. Verify and complete Process Verification (PV) documentation as required. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving activities. Support compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 standards. Requirements Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical or vocational training is a plus. Minimum of 1 year of experience in injection molding, mold setting, or similar manufacturing roles. Knowledge of injection molding processes and machinery. Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. JOB SUMMARY This CNC Machinist will Operate machine tools to machine metallic and nonmetallic workpieces for the Medical and Aerospace Industry by performing the following duties below. This position is on 2nd Shift. Machines we operate: Mills: Kitamura, Mikron, Haas and Matsuura mills. 3-axis vertical, 4-axis horizontal, and 5-axis machines, many with multiple work pallets Manual Machines: Bridgeport style mills, engine lathes, and surface grinders ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Read and interpret process plans, blueprints, and part sketches to determine necessary machining, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements. Ability to edit pre-written programs. Ability to edit and troubleshoot programs for process improvements. Observe numerical control displays on the control panel and compare with the data on the process plan to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts. Inspects first run pieces and spot checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications using operation certification knowledge. Utilizes various types of inspection instruments to check work per print. Completes necessary job-related paperwork to include tags, inspection documents, and production log. Perform basic equipment maintenance: proper coolant levels, filters, fan operation, cleans machine, etc. Use manual machines as needed to make work holding fixtures and other small quantity parts. Ability to operate multiple machines simultaneously. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED. 5+ Years of Experience Ability to read and interpret GD&T blueprints Experience with precision measuring tools Manual and CNC machining experience Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for setting up and operating stamping press to produce products in accordance with customer specifications and instructions. Completes mechanical tasks associated with die set-up, adjustments, breakdown, coil changes, die changeovers, etc. Performs in-press troubleshooting. Follows safety policies and procedures, including lock out tag out procedures. Performs assigned work to time standards and quality and safety expectations.
