OXARC has been providing welding and industrial supplies, as well as, medical and specialty gases since 1968. OXARC is headquartered in Spokane, Washington with 22 stores in WA, ID and OR. Job Summary: Performs routine daily acetylene production and cylinder filling activities. These activities include the operation and monitoring of process equipment, cylinder filling, material handling, and minor equipment maintenance. Follows industry and government guidelines and adhere to all company safety requirements. Duties include:  Perform visual inspection on all cylinders prior to filling.  Weigh all Acetylene cylinders to determine Acetone needs.  Record all residual and stray fulls from cylinders.  Perform hourly plant safety checks.  Refill Carbide hoppers when needed.  Track Carbide usage and inform management when inventory reaches re-order point.  Track Acetone inventory, inform management when inventory reaches re-order point.  Load Lime slurry for disposal.  Recover residual from all “out of test” cylinders prior to sending to re-qualification facility.  Perform PM’s on all associated equipment used for cylinder filling and inspection. As assigned.  Report monthly cylinder totals on approved tracking forms to the production supervisor. Requirements include:  Industry experience such as handling cylinders and/or previous knowledge of gases, Cylinder filling procedures, paperwork and plant operations is preferred.  Able to read and comprehend safety rules and regulations.  Able to operate hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.  Able to operate a forklift; general knowledge of common hand tools, power tools, and their proper use.  Able to lift/move 70 lbs; able to stand for most of the day, work in outdoor conditions.  Able to work independently.  You must pass drug screen and background check. Salary Range: Expected hiring salary is $23.00/hr - Swing Shift Position. The salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary for this position which is $22.00/hr.-$29.50/hr. JOB FUNCTION/PURPOSE • Helps / assists on various machine and areas within the plant • Cross-trains on other machines. • Switches duties with Assistant when necessary. • Reports all equipment deficiencies or malfunctions requiring maintenance or repair to the proper Supervisor. • Adheres to production schedule and communicates any unusual scheduling issues to supervisor. • Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals. • Monitors orders throughout the production run. • Pulls samples as needed. • Follows first article processes as posted near machine. • Prints WIP(Work in Progress) and FG (Finished goods) load tags. • Ensures the compliance of safety guidelines. • Wears the proper safety equipment for the environment including safety glasses and steel toe shoes. • Keeps work areas neat and orderly, maintaining halls and floors free of slip and trip hazards, and removing of waste materials. • Maintains machine on a regular basis, dusting the top of the machine weekly. • Will stack or feed on machines from time to time or as needed • Performs other related duties as needed. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES • High School diploma/GED required • At least 2 years experience with Esko (Packaging and Display Industry experience is ideal). • Ability to understand software maintenance while continuously improving processes. • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively cross-functionally. • Strong organizational & communication skills: Writing, Speaking • Ability to recommend and implement customer solutions to drive top and bottom-line improvement. • Ability to handle multiple projects within a fast pace work environment. • Interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment. TECHNICAL SKILLS The individual must have a working knowledge of the following: 1. Read tape measure with speed and accuracy 2. Calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate 3. Apply concepts of high school math 4. Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation. 5. Product layouts and production specifications. 6. Meet Quality Standard
