Race car mechanic (Henderson)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join our Sport Car Racing team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of various purpose built race cars, car towing vehicles/equipment, and mechanic shop machinery. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, natural leadership qualities, be self-driven, and have a commitment to safety and professionalism on and off the race track. Duties: *Strong time management to ensure timely and effective repairs. *Perform diagnostic tests using standard tools to correctly identify mechanical issues. *Help develop and implement maintenance schedules to maintain and prevent towing equipment failures. *Perform weekly shop cleaning procedures as described in the shop manual. *Train and mentor junior mechanics and race-day contractors on best practices for repair and maintenance. *Maintain timely and accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and inventory of parts. *Request purchase orders from various vendors for needed parts. *Ensure compliance with team safety regulations and race track policies during all operations. *Drive race car trailer to designated racing or promotional events. Requirements: *Proven experience as a mechanic with a strong understanding of mechanical systems. Volkswagen AG experience preferred. *Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, including an ohmmeter. *Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. *Natural leadership capabilities. *Effective and professional communication skills for collaboration with team members and outside vendors. *Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks. *High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications in mechanics or related fields are a plus.
