Monument Setter (Clackamas)

Monument Setter to install and deliver monuments and headstones to cemeteries all over Oregon. You will represent our company in a professional and cost-effective manner to increase our profitability and customer satisfaction. Essential Job Functions • Routes, loads and secures monuments on knuckle-boom equipped flatbed truck (newer trucks) • Drive to multiple locations to deliver or set stones at cemetery gravesites to erect monuments, following diagrams and written specifications: Locate grave spaces, lays out the foundation for the monument, using rule and staked lines. • Lays out the foundation for monument using rule staked lines • Digs trench for foundation using picks the shovel • Removes sections of the monument from the truck bed and guides stone onto foundation using skids, hoist, or truck crane • Aligns and levels stone using rule, square, plumb line, wedges, and crowbar • Works alone and as a member of a team to erect monuments • Inspect gravesite and fill in ruts leaving gravesite in pristine condition • Photograph stone • Follow DOT regulations and safety standards • Complete logs and reports • Occasional overnight travel required (room & board company paid) Qualifications • Previous experience helpful but not required • Knowledge of (or ability to learn) sandblasting • Valid driver’s license (non-CDL) • Ability to operate forklifts and cranes in a variety of weather conditions • Ability to follow diagrams and written specifications • Lift 50lbs • Overtime/weekend availability Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Excellent organizational and communication skills • Detail-oriented • Ability to maintain control of a fast-paced, multiple project environment • Ability to follow all DOT regulations (pre-trip and post-trip inspections, hours of service (e-log) This is a Union position.
