Repair and maintain equipment and facilities for the mine. This includes, but is not limited to, electrical, hoses and oil leaks, welding, air conditioning, field oiler, and other mechanical work, depending on experience. Specific responsibilities may include: Diagnose and repair heavy equipment and haul trucks to keep them in top shape. Computer diagnostics. Welding. Maintain mine equipment. Field oiler/lube technician. Inspect mine equipment before start up. Operate all equipment in a safe manner to keep unnecessary maintenance problems to a minimum. Communicate with all employees about unsafe conditions and/or maintenance needed, pass down instructions to the next mechanic and/or supervisor at shift change.
