Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team and ensure the optimal functioning of our properties. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure all facilities are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with local regulations. A strong commitment to quality workmanship and customer service is essential for success in this position. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on residential properties, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general carpentry. Conduct regular inspections of buildings and equipment to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety standards. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from tenants and resolve issues in a timely manner. Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of equipment and facilities. Maintain accurate records of work orders, repairs, and inspections, and report any significant issues to the Maintenance Supervisor. Collaborate with other maintenance staff and property management to address tenant concerns and improve overall resident satisfaction. Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working order and report any issues to management. Follow all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Participate in on-call rotation for emergency maintenance requests outside of regular business hours. Requirements Previous experience as a maintenance technician or in a related field. Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and general maintenance practices. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reporting to the Facilities Director, this role is responsible for ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our staff, guests, and collections. The Facilities Technician will play a key role in maintaining the overall safety, security, cleanliness, and functionality of our campus, which currently operates out of two buildings and will soon expand into a third. The site includes workspaces for Eames Institute staff as well as warehouse spaces for the Eames Archives.
