Position Overview We seek an experienced Nurse Practitioner for a primary care role in a government-owned facility in Oklahoma. Nurse Practitioner serves as an advanced practice provider delivering high-level, patient-centered care to diverse populations within Oklahoma’s state agencies and facilities. Operating with a significant degree of autonomy, the NP is responsible for comprehensive health assessments, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic illnesses. The NP formulates and implements treatment plans, prescribes medications, and orders diagnostic tests within the scope of Oklahoma law. This role collaborates closely with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care. The NP also provides patient and family education, promotes preventive care, and may participate in policy development, quality improvement initiatives, and staff mentoring. The position requires advanced clinical judgment, adaptability to a variety of clinical settings, and a commitment to evidence-based practice and regulatory compliance. Assignments are temporary and may vary in location, shift, and duration based on agency needs. Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive patient histories, physical examinations, and health assessments. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions within the NP’s scope of practice. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans. Prescribe medications, therapeutic interventions, and order/interpret diagnostic tests. Provide patient and family education on disease management, health promotion, and preventive care. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care. Document all patient encounters, assessments, and interventions in the medical record. Participate in quality improvement, risk management, and policy development activities as required. Mentor and educate nursing and support staff as appropriate. Respond to emergencies and provide urgent care interventions as needed. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, facility policies, and best practice standards. Requirements Qualifications Education: MSN or DNP from an accredited NP program. Requirement: Valid and unrestricted Oklahoma Nurse Practitioner license and national certification (e.g., ANCC, AANP) Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (MSN or DNP) Current BLS/CPR certification; additional certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) may be required per assignment Experience requirements as specified by the facility Resume 2 Professional References Copies of Professional/Clinical State License/Registration Copies of Identification/Work Authorization Willing to provide consent for a Criminal Background Check Willing to undergo Drug Screen/Urine Toxicology test Experience: Meets facility requirements (minimum 1-2 years primary care preferred).
