Datacom Tech 3 – $26 to $32 • Ability to give direction to small numbers of crew members (i.e., the lead may task a T3 to run small crew on a particular floor of a building or a specific aspect of the project) • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders: Communication with Telco Data PM on manpower and material needs Communication with clients/customers • Proven industry knowledge through certifications including but not limited to: SYSTIMAX I&M Corning See the Light Trainings BICSI Installer or BICSI Tech • Mid to high-level understanding of copper and fiber products and their installation methods Installation of Category Cabling Installation of Coaxial cabling Installation of Fiber cabling • Ability to terminate most standard industry connectors including but not limited to: SYSTIMAX Panduit Mini-Com and Netkey Leviton • Mid-to-high-level understanding of bonding and grounding systems, including but not limited to: Ability to install all aspects of bonding and grounding for telecom systems. Ability to locate incorrect installation techniques through visual inspection. • High level of understanding of firestopping principles as it pertains to telecom pathways. • OSHA 30 • Entry to mid-level understanding of fiber optic principles and termination techniques, including but not limited to: Mechanical Splicing Fusion Splicing Connectors • Communicate Clearly with other trades the needs and challenges relating to our scope. • Understanding what is or is not in our scope of work on the assigned project. • Ability to identify risks and challenges ahead of time. • Knowing what material is needed to complete the project. • Ability to direct and train lower-level technicians. • Understanding the definition of a complete project All devices installed and tested. Customer training Panel neatly dressed and all cables labeled. • Ability to understand and complete job specific paperwork. JSA Safety reports Weekly progress reports As built drawing.
