This position is contingent on contract award** First Division Consulting is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Network) to support a Department of the Navy (DoN) customer in Dahlgren, VA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network architecture, design, implementation, and security within a high-stakes DoD environment. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure network infrastructures, leveraging Cisco, Juniper, TCP/IP, and VoIP technologies, while ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage secure LAN/WAN architectures for a DoD operational environment. Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and fiber optic networking solutions. Utilize Cisco and Juniper networking technologies to enhance network security and performance. Oversee cable plant design and network infrastructure installations, ensuring mission-critical availability. Implement VoIP solutions, optimizing performance and security for voice communications. Conduct network performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure operational efficiency. Support cybersecurity compliance efforts, including security configurations and risk management in accordance with DoD policies. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, cybersecurity experts, and DoD stakeholders to enhance network capabilities. Requirements Required Qualifications: Six (6) years of professional experience in: Designing and implementing LAN/WAN networks within corporate or DoD environments. Configuring and maintaining network infrastructure using Cisco and Juniper technologies. TCP/IP and VoIP technology integration. Managing routers, switches, fiber optics, firewalls, and structured cable plant designs. Active Top Secret (TS) Clearance with SCI eligibility. One of the following IT certifications: CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) CCNP Security (Cisco Certified Network Professional Security) CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) GCIH (GIAC Certified Incident Handler) Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting DoD or government network operations. Desired Skills & Qualifications 1. Mechanical Aptitude: Strong hands-on skills with tools, assembly, and fabrication. 2. Networking Knowledge: General understanding of IP networking concepts (IP addresses, routers, switches, wireless). 3. Computer Literacy: Proficient with Windows MacOS and Unix; ability to learn new software and skills quickly. 4. Electrical Skills: Experience with DC power systems, wiring, and solar setups. 5. Soldering & Fabrication: Comfortable soldering wires and connectors; ability to fabricate small parts as needed. 6. Problem Solving: Self-starter with the ability to troubleshoot, think critically, and adapt. 7. Physical Readiness: Comfortable working in shop and field environments, including lifting equipment and working outdoors. Preferred Experience (Nice to Have) 1. Looking for an experienced technician to troubleshoot install cat 6 wiring and Telephone line tracing troubleshooting with a telephone line but set, toner probe set, small cable hand held tester and laptop experience. Experience is a must for installations, repair, troubleshooting Cat6, telephone line 66 block, and CCTV camera systems . Must have telephone line buttset experience. Installation of cameras and dvr systems commercially and trouble shooting. ALL solid and strong experience in ALL of my requirements must be 100%. Work vehicle is available depending on driving record.
