Kitchen Kaboodle Merchandising Assistant compensation: $17.45 per hour employment type: Part Time experience level: Entry Level Merchandising Assistant GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION The Merchandising Assistant for Kitchen Kaboodle is expected to work with and support the Director of Merchandising and participate in all tasks associated with implementing the merchandising plan at our 4 retail locations. Must have attention to detail, and the ability to follow through and implement merchandising plans and instructions. Previous merchandising experience and/or a background in design is helpful but not required. The position will involve, but is not limited to, building and moving fixtures and fixture parts, moving and rearranging product according to guidelines, and assisting in the creation and maintenance of visual displays. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS- Persons hired for any Merchandising Assistant position must be physically capable of a variety of physical and manual work which includes walking, standing, moving for a majority of every shift. The employee must have a full range of motion in their arms, hands, feet, and legs and be able to lift 25-50 lbs. independently and help move furniture and displays as appropriate with a lifting partner throughout each shift. In addition, as part of this job, the employee will be expected to move freely throughout the store to walk, lift, carry, squat, and use a 4-step ladder for product placement. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with the Director of Merchandising or work independently on assigned tasks by the Director of Merchandising. From time to time, and as directed, work with other members of the Merchandising Team. Capable of learning functional use of our Point-of-Sale software and ADP via our work computers. Stand, walk, squat, and lift frequently for a minimum of 90% of your assigned shift while moving products or items used in displays. The position will require that the person be able to work at any/all our four locations (NW Portland, NE Portland, Tigard, Hillsboro), so reliable personal transportation or comfort with the use of public transportation is necessary. Hours are 8-4 and 3 days a week during weekdays only. The specific weekdays of work will be determined by the Director of Merchandising and the candidate. MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Answer the phone and communicate clearly. Help customers and staff from time to time with questions about product. QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB Education: Prefer high school graduate. Work experience is an acceptable substitute. Experience: We are willing to train anyone who wants to enter or reenter the workforce if they can demonstrate the ability to fulfill the major duties and responsibilities and requirements of this role. Uniforms: Kitchen Kaboodle does not have any uniform or shoe allowance, but employees are required to dress neatly, cleanly, and casually with guidelines. Other: Must be able read, write, and count at a high school level of proficiency and be fluent in English.
