Must be able to work in a team environment. Perform other duties that may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Manufacturing experience preferred. Experience with air tools including nail guns and other manufacturing tools. Able to read and interpret job orders. Able to listen and communicate effectively with co-workers, customers and management, and respond to common inquiries or complaints. Able to apply basic mathematical concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to such tasks as job order verification. Able to use and read a standard and/or metric tape measure. Able to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Must be self-motivated and able to make limited and independent judgments based on given alternatives. Able to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret an assorted number of tasks or instructions. At Swift Engineering, an Assembly Technician will be working closely with engineer(s), program manager(s) and other mfg. team members to assemble composite and metallic products and vehicles for Swift. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (hourly) $24.00 to $31.00 Reports to: Manufacturing Manager Requirements Requires a High School Diploma or GED Personal experience using various hand tools associated with aerospace assembly work. Drilling Techniques – both free-hand and with drill fixture Trimming Techniques – both free-hand and with routing fixture Measuring – use of precision measuring devices such as calipers, gages, indicators, micrometers, etc. Personal experience working with aerospace fasteners, which includes proper hole sizing and torque application and verification of installation. Personal experience working with aerospace adhesives and resins, which include bond prepping, adhesive mixing, dry fitting, liquid-shimming, wet-bonding with fasteners and/or cleco’s, adhesive application Knowledge and experience working with advanced composite materials such as prepreg epoxy resins with carbon, fiberglass, and aramid processed to aerospace specifications Knowledge and experience working with adhesives, sealers, resins, bonding jigs, trim & drill fixtures, and oven curing. Key Responsibilities: Setup and Preparation: Prepare and set up punch press machines according to production requirements. Load materials into machines and ensure proper alignment and calibration. Perform pre-operation inspections to verify that equipment is functioning correctly. Fire Caulking: Apply fire-resistant caulking to designated areas to maintain fire barriers and prevent the spread of fire. Ensure that caulking materials meet fire safety codes and standards. Inspect and repair existing caulking to maintain effective fire resistance. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of punch press machines.
