Gabriel Park Veterinary Clinic is seeking a full-time veterinary assistant with clinical experience to join our team! Founded in 2005, GPVC is a privately owned small animal clinic that specializes in wellness, senior, medical, surgical, and dental care. Our Veterinary Assistants work closely with our Certified Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians to deliver exceptional patient care and treatments. Full-time is preferred, but part-time is available. Clinical Vet Experience is required Experience/qualification in the following areas is preferred: -Dog and Cat Restraints -Sub-Q injections (Vaccines, fluids, etc) -Nail trims -Blood Draws -Can lift 50 pounds -Sedation Monitoring w/ CVT or DVM supervision -In-house Lab Testing -Basic cleaning tasks -X-ray Certification is required, but we can assist with your certification if needed. We are currently open Monday through Friday, closed weekends. Key Responsibilities Scheduling & Staffing - Coordinate and maintain daily caregiver schedules for all active clients. - Ensure full shift coverage, adjusting promptly for call-outs and emergencies. - Match caregivers with clients based on skillset, compatibility, and availability. - Maintain proper documentation and input data for accurate payroll and billing. - Communicate clearly and respectfully with caregivers, clients, family members, field nurses, and office staff. Communication & Follow-Up - Notify caregivers of schedule changes or new assignments. - Respond to client and caregiver inquiries regarding schedule adjustments. - Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation to resolve urgent staffing concerns. - Escalate quality or behavioral concerns to case management or HR. Attendance & Tracking - Assist with tracking attendance, tardiness, call-outs, and patterns of concern. - Support PTO and blackout date management within the scheduling system. - Monitor hours worked and help prevent scheduling-related compliance issues. Backup Care & Emergency Support - Be prepared to provide or coordinate emergency in-home support if needed (non-routine). - Maintain a basic understanding of DDHC care policies and procedures. Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or administrative training preferred. - Minimum 1 year experience in home care or healthcare scheduling. - Prior experience with scheduling platforms (WellSky, AxisCare, ClearCare, etc.) preferred. - Professional demeanor, strong phone etiquette, and clear written/verbal communication skills. - Excellent time management, multitasking, and problem-solving ability. - Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); general computer literacy a must. - Ability to remain calm, courteous, and resourceful in fast-paced, changing environments. - Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire). - Ability to pass Level II background screening.
