We are dedicated to delivering a vibrant yet refined experience, with exceptional service, world-class cocktails, and elevated cuisine. As the first point of contact for our guests, the Host/Hostess plays a pivotal role in setting the tone for a memorable visit. Position Summary: We are seeking a confident, professional, and people-oriented Host/Hostess to be the welcoming face of Queen Maeve. This individual will have a passion for hospitality, a natural ability to connect with guests, and the poise to represent a high-end establishment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, skilled multitasker, and quick problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments and understands the importance of delivering a seamless, elevated guest experience from the moment they walk through the door. Key Responsibilities: Greet and welcome guests warmly and sincerely, creating a positive first impression Manage reservations, guest flow, and seating using OpenTable and TOAST Answer phone calls professionally, assist with reservations, inquiries, and takeout orders when applicable Maintain a calm, composed presence during busy service periods Monitor waitlists and manage guest expectations with grace and professionalism Communicate effectively with front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure smooth service Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the host stand and entrance area Assist with coat check and any other guest service touchpoints as needed Be knowledgeable about the menu, bar program, and restaurant concept Provide support for special events, private dining, or VIP experiences Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards, including compliance with NYC and NYS hospitality regulations Requirements: Previous experience as a Host/Hostess in a high-end or fine dining setting is preferred Familiarity with food handling practices and health regulations within the food industry is essential Customer service, hospitality or front desk experience is a plus Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to remain composed and courteous under pressure Natural charisma and a warm, approachable demeanor Strong organizational and time management skills Familiarity with OpenTable, TOAST, or other POS/reservation platforms is a plus Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Must be authorized to work in the United States Must be 18 years of age or older in compliance with NYS labor laws Professional appearance and polished presentation at all times What We Offer: Competitive compensation based on experience Opportunities for growth and advancement as part of an opening team Dynamic, inclusive, and respectful work environment Training and onboarding provided Be a part of shaping the guest experience at one of NYC's most exciting new venues
